Each time I buy data it will finish very fast not knowing that android system is behind my data thefts. Last night, I caught my android device downloading Google services without my consent at around 3:40am downloading data size of 100mb haba is unfair nah.. now I have removed my Gmail account from the device... henceforth I will be accessing my email from third party browser.

Even when you turn off automatic updates.

Especially Google.

You're lucky it's just 100mb. Soon if you use WiFi, na 6gig go just vanish 😡 I hate those Google updates unnecessarily. No matter how much you restrict them! 😕

Apps are attracted to WiFi like flies on shít.

Once WiFi is connected, all your forgotten apps, updates and notifications come to life.

Goggle and off your goggle backup cos that the real culprits..........

That comes from play store auto update set to use wifi. Work on play store updates and you will be cool to go

That one go swallow 1GB on top yeye update. I dislike that windows 10 jawe.

100mb and you guys are complaining? Na how much data una dey subscribe sef? 1gb per month? I Budget 15 gb for updates on all mú devices even my Windows 11 machine. Good thing is that once you allow all your device to fully update properly, you'd be spending very little on updates later on. But I do subscribe around 50gb monthly on my phone sha. I'm a phone and PC technician so I always need to be online.

That's one thing some people do not realize. Updates are good for your phones or other devices because they fix bugs, improve the phone's performance, and protect it from possible vulnerabilities.
Don't be data-stingy.

Removing your Gmail account won't solve the problem

Some Phone manufacturers also use updates to effect planned obsolescence on their devices...These updates gradually cripple the device and in some extreme cases even occasion major damage, just so that the user is forced to dump the device for a more recent one... After all, if devices keep working flawlessly, only few people will be pushed to upgrade to newer ones

A case in point is one company whose screens of some of their phone models are developing lines left right and center
