One breast seems smaller and the kid are only able to suck from the smaller breast only. I had called a vet for her 2years ago but a quack one, instead the vet almost got her killed.
And since then I did not time to check on the goat

It has happened to one of our goats in the past... Go and buy black palm canel oil (adin dudu) and use it to be massaging the breast for her. Massage from the base to the nipples.... It'll be painful to the goat but it'll get better and both sides will even up in no time.

Mind you, it must be adin dudu ooo.... Not just the regular palm canel oil that looks like groundnut oil ooo. There's a difference between them. Don't mix it up.

Massage it for her like morning and night.

Meet Omawunmi

Well, she just loves eating out the seeds/leaves of guinea grass.

Very friendly but Shy. Hoping to cross her once she goes on heat. She of age now

A quick peep at my medication/drugs I administer to the goats.

1. Oxytetra
2. Adamovit
3. Baking Soda

4. Mineral Block

5. Disinfectant

So that's basically everything I use on the farm in raising my goats. The only thing missing there are the Dewormer, cutter in trimming their hooves and hmmmm... syringes. That's all.

Well, just dry them up. No b say rain go kill dem . Nevertheless, Get them good shelter to prevent frequent occurrence and these may lead to your goats getting sick over time. Well, i do bath my goats once in a rare while.

2- judging from your experience, would you say goat business is a lucrative business Compared to that of sheep?

Hmmm... I never raised sheep but judging from the few years of experience of raising goats and being involve in goat business, THERE IS MONEY IN GOAT FARMING OOOO!!!. You literally can be selling daily, as in daaaaaily. Goat business is a saver any day any time. Sheep (Ram) is occasional and seasonal.

Well, must have been due to inexperienced me. Trust me (& by God's grace), NO GOAT DIES ON MY WATCH EXCEPT THE GOAT NA OGBANJE. On a serious note, with the few years of experience and interaction with well qualified goat farmers over the years, i have been able to bring down mortality rates on my farm even further. Na still God las las

5. DO NOT DO PROXY FARMING OOOOO!!! STAY WITH YOUR GOATS. Don't put it in care of anybody. Hmmmm.... If it is your business, MAKE IT YOUR BUSINESS BIKO.

6. Above all, over the years, i have come to realise the importance of prayers to a farmer. Believe steadfastly in whatever you believe in. For me, it's Christ all the way. Farmers dey prayerful Oooo!

Sorry about the loss.

Like every other cases of diarrhoea on the farm, it is a clinical sign of coccidiosis. So i use same drugs I use for my birds, Amprolium (any sulfa drugs will work just fine).

Nevertheless, goats and stooling are 5 & 6. So many factors can also trigger diarrhoea in goats such as change of environment, change of food, water, even weather etc.

Out of all my goats which I gladly give treats of cabin biscuits, once Goodluck (a bulk) eats it like this (which he loves so much), the next few days will be serious diarrhoea cases, ONLY that particular goat!!!

So pls, try & know your goats & their individual traits. Well, i do know all my goats by names sef... .

I like your thread sir. Very informative. I am a full time sheep farmer and I can tell from experience that goats and sheep are very different when it comes to feeding. Goats are way more selective in their feeding as in those animals get attitude. Goat is very very lucrative just to buttress your point. Kudos and more grease to your elbow

I think the wads growth rate is slow, and they dnt fetch much cash for u when it's time to sell them.

The WAD is a good goat breed and very prolific. Since buying and selling of animals is done basically by physical attributes rather than the use of scale to decide the buying price then it’s better to go for animals that are taller and longer hence why must breeder prefer the sahelians and other breeds. You can cross them with the WAD to get something bigger out of them.

That's what am trying to do now, am not sure if this my goat (pic1) is WADS but am trying to cross breed her with sahelians in (pic2) What do u think?

The second pic is not a sahelian, it looks like a sokoto red cross. The sahelians have long droopy ears and typcially a long frame.

I didn’t know the WADS had a slower growth rate, and I always thought they were more expensive.

Oh yeah! True, like in picture below.

How expensive they could be depend on location though

When I said they hav a slow growth, I meant compare to sokoto red cross. I had 8 months old he goat (WADs) but he and my 4 months old he goat (sokoto red cross) are not mate in terms of size. D sokoto RC is way bigger

Albendazole(oral or tablet) , levamisole (injection), ivermectin (oral or injection) etc. Go through my sheep thread in my signature I have it detailed there
