If the President of the US is terribly sick and hospitalized in the US, if he intends to keep what ails him secret, do you really think the secret will not leak? A whole US President's phone call with another President leaked, not to mention health record.
So forget that gist. It's not like they care. The guy you quoted is wrong by the way. Buhari after he came back told everyone how sick he was. Even Tinubu told Nigerians he went for knee surgery.
So it's not as if Nigeria's political elites care so much about what people think, or hear about them, it's just an elite thing that they don't trust our systems, be it health, education or even financial.

After insulting the sensibility of Nigerians for 8 years with fake unfulfilled sanctimonious promises including not going abroad to seek healthcare? Do you know how many unfortunate citizens have died as a result of being unable to go abroad for the healthcare? You will surely get your reward.

One has to give props to Aisha Buhari because she was the first person to say publicly that the presidential medical center doesn't have the equipments ot medical supplies budgeted for, and she has never stopped saying things that might seem to upset her husband, it was in response to one of these outbursts by her that PMB made the "other room" statement to Chancellor Angela Merkel.

In addition in terms of actual medical care in Nigeria, the problem with Nigeria is not so much the doctors, so flying in doctors is only half the problem, it is the aftercare, incompetence and negligence from nurses etc that will kill you.

they travel because they never built any hospital in their country like the ones they patronize overseas, when you say privacy big men have their private physicians anyone can't just walk into the theatre or have access to your medical record, it's the same practice everywhere even in Nigeria, so what privacy are you talking about? Are Nigerian leaders bigger than American leaders or business men, Obama, Biden, trump all receive their medical care in America same with other leaders, tinubu is currently in France for health reasons, I am yet to see macron in a Nigeria hospital.
