In USA, a secretary holding a portfolio will have more power than a deputy secretary in any portfolio because he leads that sector entirely.

If no? Does it mean an assistant secretary in the state Department, is Higher than a substantive Minister ,i.e Secretary of Housing?

An assistant Secretary of State led the US delegation to Jonathan’s 2011 inauguration and not the deputy Secretary of State. That you don’t know the difference between the two offices speaks to your level of ignorance.

So, how can you be comparing the Secretary of housing and Urban Development, the 13th in-line of succession to the US president and a ranking cabinet member that reports directly to the president with an assistant Secretary of State that reports to the undersecretary of political affairs. Are you sure you’re okay?

Six assistant secretary of states are appointed and they are all under the undersecretary of state. The undersecretary of state reports to the deputy Secretary of State and the deputy Secretary of State reports to the Secretary of State who ranks as a cabinet member alongside the secretary of housing and urban development.

Anytime you see a ranking cabinet member of the US government (anyone with a full title of secretary) leading a presidential delegation to any inauguration, then know that the person to be sworn in is very important and of high value to the US.

Go and check those that led the US delegation to any recent inauguration and you will see clearly that those coming to Nigeria for Tinubu’s inauguration are the strongest in recent years. Stop the unnecessary hate and move on with your life.
