Nairaland as a platform has become a shadow of what it was supposed to be. Imaging the politicized comments from haters even though they know how bad the police are in doing their job.

What a shame!
Don't insult nairaland because of your opinion. What you typed was what came out of your head or mind and not that of other people. You sound reasonable to yourself but foolish to me. Because you sound foolish dose not mean I should not respect your foolishness

The DPO said "nothing was reported", does he have to wait until something is reported before doing anything about it, as it appears that their policing is now desktop? Conversely, "nothing was reported" probably because the reporter may be in trouble for being a good citizen and therefore by that avoid reporting.

Rufai is a big fool

Trying to please the headless mob

How will you wake up and pick your phone and start causing panic that 40 cars got vandalized and ECU Brainbox got stolen

Police spokesperson asked him to show us the 40 vandalized cars as DPO said nothing of such

He could only post 1 corrola ... Asked where the remaining 39 are, he started forming English

Like Emdee Tiamiyu hasn't done enough damage to Nigerian reputation online, Rufai want to add it that Lagosians are car vandals

.

Politics aside, DPO said nothing of such happened, Hundeyin sent someone and discovered indeed something happened (one car vandalized). What does that tell you?

Apparently, your brain can't relate that the DPO lied irrespective of the number of cars vandalized.

Hmm do not talk like that. I can boldly tell you that if you present police with all the facts you maybe arested tmad a suspect. I remember one of my neighbours who went to make a report similar about some 5 cars vandalized in my estate then

He was arrested by the door some days later . Rufai is playing it safe. If he shows all the photos and the spot there insists nothing like that happen to save his face rufai will be arrested to show where these robberies happened.

Sounds absurd right ? My brother this is the unfortunate reality of Nigeria police

Abi, is it every crime that is reported to police? You go to police, you will pay to incident the crime, probably pay to transport them for investigation. Who get time for that wahala. Better to go fix your car.
It is possible it happend, might be a little exaggerated while passed from mouth to ear.

Why did Oseni not compel the owner of the vechicle to do the needful,i.e report the case at the nearest police if he really wants the police involve

IF Oseni have prestige or regard his profession, he should have verified the information before posting or maybe he just chose to LiE to score a cheap goal against Lagos, his last words about Mega city sounds like shade, WE indeed cheesy
When thinking becomes something you treat with seriousness, you would realize how embarrassing it is for a so-called local police spokesman to wait for a journalist to tell him what happens in his watch...

He was trying to politicize a simple complaint but ended up making himself look foolish...

He outsourced his responsibility to a civilian volunteer...How dumb does that sound?

In a normal country, the police would have gone to the mentioned places and investigated everything, but in Nigeria our policemen are on Twitter arguing.

Whether it's 1 car or 40 cars, a loss to one is a loss too many

@ Hyundai how will a volunteer in the same area which the event took place and do as if he didn't hear or see it early in the morning, because such even usually happens midnight when everyone is still asleep.

If it's true then the residents which such events took place in their area are afraid to speak up as usual in Nigeria.
Re: Rufai Oseni Vs Benjamin Hundeyin by ogunsbanjul(m): 8:32pm On May 24, 2023
On this case I give kudos to Lagos State Police image maker for doing a great job.

Unprofessional cum baby journalist Rufai said 40 cars brain boxes were stolen or vandalized (whichever) but one was discovered which was NOT reported in the nearest police station. This simply means police is right by claiming no 40 cars brain boxes was stolen or car damaged as claimed by a lie machine of arise tv cum social media journalist called Rufai Oseni.

My advice is for Nigeria police to charge Rufai Oseni to court for spreading fake news so as to serve as deterrent to others

Ori e pe jare! That ought to be the main point of concern by the police. Instead he used the report to make issue with Rufai. Is Rufai suppose to be patrolling about to know what happened? No wonder Police are not reliable when crime is being committed. They don't have the culture of swift response to crime situation. No mechanism installed to attend to crime alert.

Let not Misconstrue these whole thing, be it US , Uk or any part of the world of a crime happens the police can't know if they are not "NOTIFIED" hello !!!
Police are not "omnipresent" .. it is the duty of the victim to log complaint

Oseni provided a wrong Information, he lied to creat a ruse, the only option for police PROs on twitter is to contact there station in the locality to make proper enquiry before they can address the public on it,
If you walk into that area and ask just anybody that was 40 vehicles vandalized the answer is gonna be NO.
I know its alway convenient for us all to crucify the police, but on this one Oseni was wrong or just being mischievous
