SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT: It is one thing to turn in your resignation. It is another thing for the application to be processed, upon which you receive your discharge certificate.

Till you get the discharge certificate, you remain a serving member of the Force, bound by all extant rules and regulation of service.

@PoliceNG , absence from duty for twenty-one days without leave or permission automatically results in your being declared a deserter. Every serving member knows this.

Corporal Fauzziyah Isiak, who serves in the office of the Imam of the Command, without leave, permission or discharge from service, absconded from duty for over a month, in flagrant disregard for the conditions of service she willingly signed to.

For this offence against discipline, she was detained yesterday for the commencement of her orderly room trial today.

Secondly, she has maliciously brought the name of the Force into disrepute by distorting/misrepresenting facts - a discreditable conduct that amounts to another disciplinary offence.

Nevertheless, she would have an opportunity to explain herself at the trial, after which a decision will be made.
a lot of us have disregard for process or take it for granted. and when you want to fk with a person from within a structured environment, you use the process on him. this lady has effectively done a seun kuti to herself - she has flouted the rules, and she has made sure everyone is aware she did so. unless she can demonstrate that her ogas at the top have refused to act on her resignation. it is possible but will be very hard to prove

Why must the process for resignation take more than one month?

The issue i had with her was coming online to rant. I would just disappear and never come back, after resignation.

What are they processing for more than a month?

She had submitted her letter since last year..

LAST YEAR.

Women will always narrate the bad things people do to them but they will never tell people the bad things they do to provoke reactions from people.

However, we cannot even believe any one of them if a court has not decided on the matter since the Nigerian police tell lies as much as women do.

It was there in her tweet

Since last year, she submitted her letter and in May 2023, they have not finished processing it.

Only a useless organisation would spend 6 months to process a resignation letter of someone below the high ranks

Instead of apologising for wasting so much time, they have spun it to flouting due process

I once said it here that Nigerians truly deserve who rules them, because they don't even know what they want.

Look at people bashing her already that she flouted process. I am even seeing gender bias

You submitted a resignation letter since LAST YEAR, and till now it has not been approved.

Yet, your employer wants you to keep coming to work.

Even you don't even know the truth.

You can only know the truth if a court decides on the matter!

What truth did you have, before you drew your conclusion that she could be lying?

Ben did not say she didn't submit her letter last year. He said she was supposed to report to her post till her letter is approved.

From the thread
She agrees she absconded
Ben didn't deny her resignation last year.

So which truth do you have to say Women lie?

If your child submits a resignation letter to her employer since last year, and 6 months later, it is still being processed.

Yet, they still want her to resume everyday.

If you were a parent, what would you advise?

I only blame her for tweeting....Just move on with your life.

unfortunately the police are an opaque organisation. there may be more to the story that we are not aware of - but lets wait and see. this is why it is important to have a proper archival system for your emails in an office environment.

I don't want to dwell on whether someone lies or not.

I just need to clarify that truth can only be ascertained in a court of law now since the two parties have differing accounts!

Easy!

E nor matter wetin make her leave.. Even if na bad dream she get..

Point is for 1yr she dropped resignation letter.

From Ben's reply you'd see the only thing he talked about was absence from duty for 21days as a reason to charge her. He didn't even address the 1yr talk sef.

How long person go work for organisation wey them Don drop resignation letter for?

Common sense is not common.
I know there's something about resignation days in the law.
I dunno if the police act will supercede the Labour act

My point is why it takes half a year to process a resignation letter.

Looking for more to the story is just us, trying to ignore her plea.

Why is it taking 6 months to process a resignation letter? Let's leave the "more to the story".
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 11:21am On May 25, 2023
She's probably being victimized by one oga at the top and she has naively fallen into the trap. Security forces especially the Nigerian variant don't take kindly to insubordination real or otherwise. She should have reached out to one senior officer preferably female who would have advised her and helped her know how to comport herself in the face of deliberate hindrances.

In a structured environment, If you are involved in some sort of disciplinary case or fraud case, you are automatically not allowed to resign until the case/investigation has been resolved.

That is why I am saying there may be more to the story.

Do not be deceivied, if the police mean to find you, they will find you. She has a trackable phone number, she has a bank account and bvn. Disappearing is easy for abokis who deal in cash and have no fixed number. For everyone else it is harder.

I trust Ben to have confirmed this assumption just like they made a fool out Rufai yesterday.

And besides, if this was the case, the resignation would have been rejected.

Nobody said it was.
