Good day profs.

I'm planning to get a generator. I need your thoughts/advice from a guru point of view.

I have a 2hp pump machine. (i don't mind powering down other loads to power it, in rare cases where we have blackout that last for days)

Daily loads might be
2hp ac
1hp ac
65 inch Qled tv
Soundbars
laptops(4)
165L Freezer
Washing Machine.

Also i don't mind powering down some device to use the washing machine
Which generator KVA will you recommend?
Thanks
At least 6 5KVA or 5000W

Can someone talk to me about Senwei generators? They appear cheap in the market and I can say its price suits my budget.

I hear it’s not Copper coil, but my load isn’t much and i don’t plan of adding any more load in the near future.

I have Just a Tv ( 43 in Samsung)
145L double door fridge ( Thermocool )
Microwave 1100W
Blender 450w

I may or may not get a washing machine.
Thing is I don’t mind offloading some appliances to use another.

Can this Senwei Serve me?

I've been using mine for 5 months now. No issues so far. Mine is the sv6200 model though.

For your load, there's no way you are spending anything less than 200k. You cannot even get a 2.5kva gen for that amount let alone a 4.5kva one. That price tag you see there is the red flag you are looking for. Assuming Senwei is a good product, this particular one you posted must be a fake!

100ltrs single door bruhm refrigerator
50" smart tv
3 ceiling fans
5 5watts and 5 10watts energy saving bulbs
3 laptops.
Occasional use of 1hp sumo to pump water.

Bought mine for #110k in January and it's rated 2.5kw and 2.8kw max
The actual rating of the 1 he posted is 2.0kw, and 2.2kw max and it sells for around 85-90k.

Hello! Please help!
This is my gen, Elepq Constant. 13HP engine, 11KW
Initially I bought this gen because of my sumo 1.5HP pumping machine and other home appliance.

But since, I'm going to be using it for home use when I'm not pumping water with it. It consumes 10 litres of fuel for approximately 5hrs. What do I do to fix this because its becoming unbearable, when I'm not using it to pump water, I use it for the following appliances
1.5HP inverter thermocool AC
219 Litre inverter thermocool freezer
Two industrial fans, lights and
58inch Hisense TV

How do I resume the fuel consumption? From the second picture, the firing screw is loosed. Should I tie it to the end. Please I need your input.

I have an issue i just noticed when running my generator

Everything is working perfectly but light goes off and comes on within 5 secs and this happens at the interval of 40-50mins... At first when it happened i thought thieves came to off the light to steal the gen or wait for me to come out of the house grin

What could be the issue and solution to this problem..... The generator is Thermocool the blue type and its barely 1yr and 6months old

Losing the screw reduce the speed and by then the fuel consumption reduce, so then tight the fuel consumption screw on the cabrator too

Prof.Enoch, I have this Firman, generating set, sp3000, manual start. I bought it for about a year now. I have not taken it to a repairer once, although I have changed The VAR once. The gen. has started consuming too much engine oil. The situation is so bad, I have to be toping the oil every morning before I can use it otherwise it wwill go off. please, what could be wrong, what should I do ?
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by candyguyofficia(m): 12:17pm On May 30, 2023
Good Afternoon

My generator is burning oil as the engine oil always short. I called a repairer he said I need to buy half engine (35k) that if I rinse the engine that it is 50 : 50 chance it will work that it might take sometime before it start burning again. He said if it's rinsing that I want to do that I will buy Piston, Centre Package and Connecting Rod.

The generator is I think less than 2 years old bought it brand new (Maxi E10M)

House please what do you think

Though the engineer is rite to some extent, but getting the half engine of 35k is as same as him rinsing ur old engine, will advise u to get good half engine, should be 70 -80k

Boss I appreciate you for taking time out to answer me. The generator is actually 1.25kva. It cost that much for a good half engine?

The cost for half engine is out of my budget for now.

Do you recommend I rinse the engine? If I do give or take would it last for a long time and not short oil because the repairer was like its 50:50 that it will not burn oil but later on he was like it will not quickly burn

Is 2 years long enough for a brand new generator to start having engine oil burn problem?

What causes generator to have engine oil burn so that I can avoid such situation

Also the generator repairer didn't open the generator I told him the generator is burning oil and he said what he said considering the generator is still recent I'm trying to see if maybe he would have observed or maybe check something from the generator
Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by enochogaga(m): 8:18pm On May 30, 2023
I thought it was 2.5kva, though that 1.2kva half engine still cant last u as expected, 4-6month u will start experiencing oil burn and shortage

Wait ooo, what do you normally load the gen with? How many hours do you run the gen daily on average? How often do you change oil? This will give an idea of the problems you face.

Immediately before now sometimes TV plus Home Theater mosttimes I get tired when I get home and hardly on the TV except just Home Theater and fan. There was a time I was using it to load 2 modern TV and about 8 energy saving bulb (but it was not for a long time for about 2 months but since I stopped that load it's been like 4 months).

Presently, I use the generator to load 2 tvs 1 decoder 3 energy saving bulb and 1 yellow bulb that (but all the bulbs I don't on them the same time).

I change the oil once its change colour or short I use Golden Super but after the first oil shortage I observed I bought Zico Oil (just to see if its the oil but it short as well).

The hours I on the generator is about 4 to 5 hours daily but at some days I don't on the generator at all like when I travel or leave for short break

candyguyofficia:

This right here could take months, right? That's most likely what brought about your predicament. You dont change oil anytime you like or after there is shortage or change of colour. Oil change should be done after using the gen for a particular period of time. You should have checked your user manual for this, its normally between after 60-100 hours of run time. When you dont change oil promptly, the engine wears off rapidly.
