I will be candid with you, take that car away, rethink the business or give it to someone that will at least know how a car should be driven. My take.

Why should he take the vehicle away from his driver?

What did his driver ever do to you?

Omo bone TheModerator, you can’t just come out from nowhere and accuse someone unjustly here.

ME I won’t allow it.

The first time you did it I asked you to say what exactly transpired between the both of you but you instead decided to act the way you did. It doesn’t make an iota of sense.

If truly you’re not all smoke then let us understand your problem bro, what’s your pain? where is the fire? undecided

Because he's distraught, he's worried about his car and wondering if it's really worth it. I gave him a candid advice not borne out of malice. You're the one diverting attention, saying things that are irrelevant.

Says only you @ bolded. How are we to know? What if it’s actually out of envy and hatred that you want him to take his vehicle away from his driver?

Why didn’t you advise dav1002 to take his vehicle totally off all the ehailing platforms and put to use elsewhere since you think it’s a fruitless endeavor like a few others here do?

Why are you pushing for him to take the vehicle away from his present driver and give to another new person to use on the same roads and in the same business? what is your reason?

Remember the title of this thread is to share experiences, so share something for us. That’s the reason why you settled down to advise dav1002 to take his vehicle away from someone who you might not even know from Adam and give it to another random person.

If cheerfulgiver did something bad to you trust me I’d be the first person to drag him. I’m old enough to speak my mind and forward enough to call a spade a spade.

I don't like repeating myself. Cheerfulgiver doesn't drive like a normal human. There's more to how he goes about ehailing that meets the eye.

Secondly, he came to the man not stating exactly who he is, pretended to be someone else until the man found out. That for me is a deal-breaker. You do not carry on doing business with someone that came to you in that kind of shaddy manner. He has shown that he's a very dishonest man, deserves no pity.

There's also a case of coercion here. It's just like when a master is asking the student for a favour, it will always be difficult for the student to say no. It's that type of method that cheerfulgiver is using on dav1002. It's not going to end well for dav, the foundation is already faulty, embedded in lies and deception. Best is to strip him of the car asap, no more second thoughts or time wasting. A liar will always be a liar. He's not going to change.

As a car owner with two cars, using one for the hustle and been among the silent readers association on nairaland
Joined a telegram group here to learn how to increase my earnings by a veteran here who many folks look up to and mentors
After some months in the hustle, saw a post from someone in the telegram group looking for a rental. The telegram group being a closed forum with like minds I posted also that I have a car lying idle and up for rental.
In my thinking I could use it to earn extra income through rentals
So the person dm'd me and we agreed for 30k weekly because from his posts he nets huge and puts in the time so I thought he is ideal for the position
We met signed all relevant document and the car was given. After months I discovered this person was the same person that created this telegram group but used an alternate line to strike this rental deal. Inotherwords he has two numbers on the platform. That means I've been partnering with my mentor 😢

Did this happen in Abuja?

If a driver approaches a partner without disclosing his Nairaland monicker, I don't think that's entirely bad. Knowing how people want to shame another man by bringing the slightest of quarrel or misunderstanding to the thread, so I understand that perfectly.
And didn't it just display itself? The moment the partner discovered his driver is on nairaland he brought the gist here to shame his driver, instead of handling his business as he has always been doing before he discovered. Or ask his question without exposing his driver.

I get many calls and some people will only tell u their real names and not their nairaland username, if we do business, does that mean they are fraudulent to me, the answer is NO.
As far as driver didn't submit fake credentials to his partner, he used his real name, address and real guarantors then the question of trick or fraud is out of it.

As for if the car is not well taken care of, Dav1002 knows what to do in d event that his car is badly used. My guess is that even the car he is driving has also changed and he understands that u can't drive ehailing in lag and not have one or two scratches. That's not the real reason he brought up that gist. The real reason was just to tell us that he discovered a certain person is his driver simple as that.

Your last paragraph doesn't hold water because at the point of driver asking for the car, partner didn't know who he was, so there couldn't be any coercion of mentor and mentee.

I'm saying again, think twice before investing into the business.

Yesterday someone contacted me for a.toks camry sport 2008 I'd for sale and I asked him what do you need this car for? He said Uber... I told him if you must venture into Uber biz bros let's get a Corolla or Honda Civic toks standard and he said fine.

This your argument doesn't hold water in any way. Approaching someone that have your details with a different ID is nothing but scam. He wore a mask to get that car. The coercion started when Dav found out who he was and became helpless. That's taking undue advantage of someone as his "master". It can be likened to a rape. In this case, an innocent car and Dav's mind were the victims.

Felicity was attacked here, even by you for doing a legit business. This one is a clear case of deception and you see nothing wrong in it?

Did you also read the part where he said the car is not in a good condition. Cars are very expensive now, worst still are the parts. You don't have to sit there and watch someone turn your car to shreds. For crying out loud, the deal is rental not HP.

If you call what felicity did to that fasasi guy as ‘legit business’ then it’s okay. At least I now know the type of mindset that you have as an individual. The same mindset that makes you open a fresh account to accuse people or waste energy, data and time to frantically search through almost 17 years of my nairaland profile looking for whatever you can use to attack me. A vehicle not in a good condition can simply imply that okada scratched its bumper or sides, the vehicle lost some mud guards or maybe a hairline crack on the windscreen. You are getting it wring Pearl. The deal was struck on Telegram not nairaland. He created that group on Telegram. He used a different number from the one Dav is use to and acted like an ordinary group member. Why do you have to intentionally hide your number and prevent a supposed partner from knowing who you are? Definitely because he's not who he was making his followers believe he is. That's the shock.

If Gilthronix comes to me for a rental deal without telling me his moniker on nairaland and I later found out he's the one. I don't need to raise alarm about it because he has always been himself here. He has never said he lives on Chevron drive but only parks there. He has never said he owns a matrix, later upgraded to a 2014 corrola and was only on rental years ago. Deceiving his followers that if he can do it they too can do it.

Those were the lies and deception.

Cheerfulgiver has also made a huge mess of the car and it can only get worse. Best is to take the car away from him.

Which kind thread be dis grin

You still don't get it sir, what pearl1910 and kanuisagoat is doing works for them, might not work for other. What this person is doing work for him. There is no size fit all!
There are mouth watering HP/Rental deal out there.I gave a banker Corolla for 15k two years ago..o boy, there are people with slush fund and they probably don't even know wt to do with it. .Here in my office, guys ask me everyday what kinda of biz they can do to get residual income..They are salary earner, most of them have 2 to 4 million somewhere that they are not using, they want something that can give them REGULAR income, even if it's small, just make it REGULAR and I think that is my brothers STRENGTH. Imagine, driving someone's car for TWO years without a SINGLE default in payment! That is the albatross of most driver, inability to pay as at when due and that is his own strength! When I bought my second Corolla, it was from a slush fund and I have a decent income. I only needed someone that can give me 15 to 20k every Weekend to take care of house bills(food, dstv, phcn, refuse bill, groceries etc), the guy paid for like 6 month or so then story started...My plan was not to make huge fund from it, just pay bills..There are alot of folks that needs that and this young man target them.. Work diligently and as hard as possible(it's ok if you think that is slavery) remit, owned and MOVE on!
The truth is, there are diff ways to bait a cat!
