Well the pipe going down on the hole which is usually same as your soakaway pipe should be high off the ground preferably same Hight as your DPC and make sure you put appropriate covering on it, protect it with at least 2 coaches of blocks on the sides

Different soil types!

Sandy Soil: Sandy soil comprises larger particles with low cohesion and good drainage. It is typically well-drained, allowing water to pass through easily. Sandy soil has poor nutrient retention and is drought-prone due to its low water-holding capacity.

Loam Soil: Loam soil is a balanced combination of sand, silt, and clay particles. It has good drainage, adequate water-holding capacity, and moderate nutrient retention. Due to its balanced properties, loam soil is often considered the ideal soil type for plant growth.

Silt Soil: Silt soil consists of fine particles smaller than sand but larger than clay. It has moderate drainage and good water-holding capacity. Silt soil feels smooth and powdery when dry and can be easily compacted when wet.

Clay Soil: Clay soil is made up of very fine particles with high cohesion and poor drainage. It has excellent water-holding capacity but tends to become waterlogged. Clay soil has high nutrient retention but can be heavy and compacted when wet, leading to poor root growth.

Peat Soil: Peat soil is formed from partially decomposed plant material in waterlogged, acidic environments. It has a high organic content and is typically found in wetland areas. Peat soil is characterized by its dark brown or black color and spongy texture. It has poor drainage and low nutrient availability but can be used as a soil amendment to improve moisture retention.
