Okoroawusa: It is gone bro. Not a kobo can be paid on subsidy so far as we have a refinery, in Nigeria, fully operational and meeting our domestic need for PMS. If not that ethnic bigotry has ruined Nigeria, it will be obvious to many they are not thinking logically. Any sense at all, while Dangote refinery is fully operational, in continuing the practice of exporting our crude to refineries outside Nigeria and then they are imported to our nation with the government haven to then pay massive amount in subsidy to foster affordability for Nigerians? All because the process , we can now cut out, of exporting crude, refining it abroad and shipping back to Nigeria has added to it's cost to make it's final price almost similar to prices paid in nations like Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa etal that is several times what we will still pay buying from Dangote? Tinubu really needs to consider an adult educational and information dissemination Ministry , featuring the main languages, that will broadcast information, when necessary, to explain to Nigerians the essentials of actions government is taking because the disinterest of the black man in reading and doing research seems to be most damaging in Nigeria where bigoted hatred of each other further compounds the problem for Nigerians. 1 Like |

Just how long will it take the rest of Nigerians to see see these degenerates and empty loafers for what they really are?? These f00lish "Yoruba Ronu" e-diots and sons of a drug lord will someday ruin this nation with tribalism. 2 Likes |

lhordspy: I support subsidy removal however, something must give. You can't just wipe away subsidy without an offering. A practical example will be waiver of some sort on either importation or production of electric vehicles largely because its the transport sector that will largely amplify the effect of subsidy removal or something else if not that. BAT addressed it with an insensitive approach and maybe that can be blamed on the person who composed his speech if any but he shouldn't have brought it up if he wasn't ready to give the details of how it will be achieved. That is part of the insensitivity we talking about. Subsidy is a very controversial topic and the response is usually immediate and sharp following the history of our country, so as should be the approach. Neway, how quickly he resolves it will show his level of seriousness. They should hit the ground running. As for Adebayo, obviously he is one of those Tinubu sponsored to run for the presidency as side distraction against major opponents hence am not suprised. Either way, subsidy must go. It's not sustainable. Has never been, will never be but government need to be more pragmatic in their approach. |

Were you born in bitterness and turbulence ? Why do you love hardship and pains, with the fondness of a mother to a child? Even if you’re paid, don’t you think you need help? [/quotejk[quote author=middlebelter post=123483015]This SDP candidate is very articulate. Isn't it obvious that the TUC have not been providing the necessary leadership that can bail thier members and by extension, Nigerian out of the traps of the politicians? When OBJ sold Port Harcourt Refinery to Dangote in 2007, didn't this guy opposed the transaction and forced Yar'Adua to reverse the sale? Imagine if Dangote was allowed to complete the transaction then? We won't be here debate about subsidy today. Bunch of directionless and corrupt labour union leaders. |

nnamdi640: You're the typical black person famous for having no interest in reading to then inspire the joke "if you wish to hide something from a black man, keep it in a book". Don't read what I write. Your loss. Bottom line is that Tinubu was right to reject GEJs version of subsidy removal which was a complete scam. What, for example, was in place to assure Nigeria's domestic need for PMS wood be met if subsidy was removed and marketers insist on supplying at 1200 Naira per liter? Our moribund refinery GEj and PDP were using to run Turnaround Maintenance (TAM) scam? Today, because of the effort of the APC, and even Tinubu's own direct input, Dangote refinery can supply Nigeria with PMS optimally at a rate that will still be competitive likely hovering around 260 to 320 Naira so far as he sources crude at reasonable price also. Is that not better than the lunacy PDP and GEJ were suggesting where we would be at the mercy of marketers who could legitimately demand up to 1500 Naira per litre hiding behind cost of supplying crude refined abroad(transport, storage from, barge hire, demurrage et) buying currency on forex black market et, etc. The whole thing was a mess relating to scams of huge proportion at all levels , against Nigeria, many were getting away with. Tinubu of course saw it was more-of-the-same insincerity from the PDP and the ultra-weak GEJ and rejected it. Today much better, that puts a decisive end to the massive looting and scamming of Nigeria, is in place courtesy of the APC and her leaders like Tinubu who encouraged and enabled Dangote personally. Anyway, this may all be above your head since you have shown you hate to read or do research and gain knowledge that would help you banish ignorance. Honestly, anyone proud to say they do care to read is surely a part of Nigeria's problem because we need far more informed Nigerians to be an effective lobby/pressure group against misrule than we have now. Bet you have never heard of what is revealed below. May God help you sha. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/reps-probing-of-refineries-tam-scam/%3famp

HIGHESTPOPORI: Exactly what I have been saying. In a proper democracy you need not govern to rule. Same thing in the US. The Republican party is the go to reference for everything happening in the country though it is not in power. And that is why it is important for opposition parties to quickly set up office to exploit this and not just wait till six months before elections when it is too late to influence popular opinion. Peter Obi and Atiku should constitute 'governments in waiting' and have technocrats in the face of the media 24/7 pushing their ideas and ideologies to balance the power of the ruling party. This is the only way Nigeria can really progress. 2 Likes |

Oladeji245: Lol. Are you not ashamed? Supporting PDP the party of scams, destructive vested interest and anti-development corruption. PDP is the epitome of failure scamming refinery TAM funds (turnaround maintenance ) from Nigeria for 16 years while our refineries remained comatose and worthless. They would then also pocket loads of money running subsidy scam on multiple levels of our economy from forex fraud to deliberate over-invoicing of government through cronies. Nothing good at all came from the PDP because they left our downstream oil and gas sector comatose and corruption-riddled. APC has now factually, with solid and ptoven result, shown itself to be a more sincere, solution-driven and progressive government. No one is telling you the APC is a saintly Party but achieving subsidy removal alone, successfully and optimally, means the Party has proven itself to be revolutionary as the precursor of the genuine deregulation of our downstream oil and gas sector. Only 'damaged goods' human beings will still be barking like rabid dogs, as you do, against what is good for them. |

nnamdi640: Obviously you cannot read and comprehend. How simpler can issues be put to even the most ignorant adult to get them.to see the big picture? PDP= scam and cynical self-aggrandizement via 100% fraudulent commandeering of Nigeria's crude and gas sector. Factually proven. APC = not perfect but still productive and with record of revolutionary result delivery for our crude and gas sector. Factually proven. Grow up buddy. It is your choice to be a hateful bigot but proven facts and reality will always remain proven facts and reality in the annals of history. |

UKEMY: Oluwa egbami. What kind of horrible ignorance is this that can only be driven by hate and bigotry with vindictive and clannish sentiments that makes Nigerians wish others failure? Go and Google why Dangote refinery is called the "game changer" and then come back and apologize for your own ignorance. Do a bit more research about incoming BUA refinery and the fact Nigeria, because of the supportive and liberalisation policies of the APC per the oil and gas sector, is about to gain a decent proliferating of world class refineries, moving forward towards full deregulation of the downstream sector, then give yourself a big slap. Someone not only lacking sense but also bereft of the critical knowledge a smart JSS 1 student should have insulting others for "lacking sense". This big problem of poor human resources are the intangible 'bottlenecks' that will cause Tinubu problems in my opinion. Not political will or lack of knowledge/vision. |
