Subsidy Removal: Fuelling The Car. by Originakalokalo(m): 4:47pm On May 31, 2023 |
Let's start straight away. I spent 12,000 to fill my tank last week. Now, I will spend 34,000. The car is Honda Accord 2007. What are the tips to survive this insensitivity? Tell us your tank capacity and how you plan to survive this hike. Can the government just leave this subsidy for the masses sake and go after those stealing our oil? Can the government just do partial removal of subsidy instead of total? Meaningful contributions please. 1 Like 1 Share |

Don't rev your engine above 2000 - 2500 rpm max. Don't accelerate aggressively Coast a lot and don't brake excessively Use your AC to avoid wind drag 11 Likes |

nurey: You will realize how much of a pain these small engined vehicles are when they are bearing any significant load, be it people or goods.. Seat four adults in one of those and stock just two bags of rice, and watch its fuel economy fly out of the window, and watch its puny engine almost strangle itself.. Besides what these fuel economical cars save in fuel, they take it away in price of their parts.. You don price 206 and Yaris parts of recent?.. Abi "Anti-Pollution Fault" never show you shege for those Peugeot vehicles ba? If you won't become a mini petrol-head like some of us who will buy fuel for even 1k per litre instead of dropping our V8s, help yourself and buy a normal 4-cylinder with at least 130hp like the Corollas.. .You will realise life isn't all about fuel economy when you have to haul persons other than yourself and some luggage in those kekes... That fuel wey you dey dodge to buy, you go still buy am, even if you use keke, one way or the other. 12 Likes |

buygala: Those vehicle give 5L highway and 8L city if you carry load let's say you dey do 10L per 100km one would get 40L to 400km which equals yo 20k. They are still economical. Load doesn't actually affect those vehicles compared to trying to speed with them, anything above 90km/h fuel economy starts going down the drain. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Small engine air conditioner don't blow well. You then to fire alot to climb high to overtake which end up consuming more fuel. But big engine just little acceleration you can overtake or climb high with less fuel consumption. Same thing with carrying load. I started with big engine so it would be hard to switch to small engine. 2 Likes |

nurey: With load, those engines will work at a higher Rpm to move the vehicle..Higher rev equals higher fuel consumption regardless of the speed.... Given the same load, a smaller engine will work harder than a bigger engine.. And I don't need to go into what those perpetually high revs do to a car engine in the long run.. While normal engines are sitting at 2k or 2k5 Rpm at highway speeds, these puny engines will be screaming at 3k5 or 4k rpm, and may wail into 5k+ Rpm upon slight kickdown.. Besides, why would any sane person be doing below 90 on a highway?.... As in a clear highway.. Abi you don't know that going slow on a highway is sometimes even more dangerous than overspeeding? 2 Likes |

buygala: Even the Corolla. Put three adults at the back and you instantly notice drag and slower acceleration. Having owned V6 vehicles all my life, it was the very first thing I noticed the day I drove a Corolla with and without passengers. 2 Likes |

Currently using a 3.0L V6 Camry. Omo! It’s not going to be easy. My plan is to make sure the car is 100% okay then I can drive more efficiently. Eventually we will get used to the new price. It’s just that inflation won’t be funny. It’s NEVER easy downgrading to a 4plug car after driving a V6. The smoothness of the V6 is almost heaven. 2 Likes |
