A team that gathered 6point from a group of death involving Brazil, italy against a host nation that played against guatemala, Uzbekistan,New zealand…Nigeria is not good but trust me argentina were also no that a clinical team…Africans should no that to get far in a world cup tournament is to play highline defense and counter attack…there is no way we can compete with these elite football countries with possession football

What a game!
That was some world class defending! The counter attacks were top notch too. I feel we could have scored more if we were more calm..
Big congrats to the boys..feels like revenge for that 2005 final
Thank the goalkeeper, for being involved with both goals. His long kicks have a way of splitting defense and causing problems.

We too lucky for this game. Argentina suppose win this game with atleast 3 nil
I don't like how you guys are downplaying this to luck abeg. We frustrated their game throughout 1st half and switched up for 1st goal which is more of grind than flair or style. For Redondo to get yellow proves our game plan was working. But our defenders slept sometimes. Argies saw 90% of their best chances after our 2goals.

Which South American jinx? To the best of my knowledge, we schooled Brazil in 2005 with Mikel's team under the tutelage of Samson Siasia,
Nope, we played a draw

Let's not get excited. We were awful and totally schooled by Argentina.

By the way, Caboni and Romero look promising Top stars but Gauto, that boy is 100 carat diamond.
Schooled after our 2goals no be schooling again. Na common entrance. If our game was to frustrate them, it worked. They came alive after the goals. Nothing else. Clear cut chances was nil.

We defended well and Argentina were not compact in front of goal... I won't call it luck

what manner of talk is this?
Argentina didn't really have any clear cut chances until we were 1 nil up and by then they were already chasing the game.

The team had a plan and they played well.

PS: Look up the meaning of luck in the dictionary please.

That was exactly World class defending

90% off teams would have leaked a goal from all that pressure

Luck and great defense played a key role

What a time to be alive.

Nigeria knocks out Argentina in their very own backyard. No ojoro this time around.

I am sooooooooooooo HAPPY! kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss

2005 is history now.

Credits to Ladan Bosso and his boys, they played to perfection.

And as Ladan Bosso said, the mindset of the players was the key. What a result.

Defending is tactics itself... Argentina had all the advantage today, it was up to the boys to counter it, and it looks like they did it well
