Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has appluaded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's decision to remove Petroleum subsidy, while stating that "Nigerians didn’t make mistakes” electing him, Newspremises reports.

Recall that during his inaugural speech on May 29, Tinubu declared that “petrol subsidy is gone”, a pronouncement that led to hike in the fuel price and long queues at petrol stations across the country.

The decision caused the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to threaten to embark on a nationwide protest.

Speaking on the issue, Wike said Tinubu showed “leadership” with the declaration, describing the decision as “A-rated”.

“The first steps you take show if you are a good dancer or not. He has shown leadership. The first day he took the oath. We must tell ourselves the simple truth,'” he said on Tuesday, June 6.

“How many presidents can make that kind of decision? For me, that is leadership, and it shows that he is prepared for the job. It is a hard decision, but you have to take it.

“For me, I felt so happy that we didn’t make mistakes and that this is the kind of leadership we want in this country.

“That is why some of us have said Nigerians should give him a chance. For me, the decision is A-rated.”

If you think so then u don't understand a thing about politics! Politics is a game of interest, Atiku caused wike support for Tinubu.

If not Atikus greed and believe that he could in anytime and pick PDP ticket because he was one of the founding fathers of the party. We all saw how Atiku left PDP during Buhari first term in 2015, it was wike who stood alone pumping money even when the party couldn't pay its staff leading to protest in Abuja in the post election lost.

So after Buhari finished 8yrs as a Northern it's only wise to come back to the south in the interest of our unity but Atiku felt the south wasn't important and even after southern govs pass a resolution to insist power must returned to the south. You can't blame wike unless u're enemy of the truth
