PHOTOS: Tinubu Meets Traditional Rulers In Abuja

President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, met with traditional rulers and their representatives from across the country at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

This is coming after the president met with members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, an assembly of the 36 State Governors, at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

Present at the meeting are Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; the State House Permanent Secretary, Tijjani Umar; Emir of Kano, Obi of Onitsha, Tor Tiv, Etsu Nupe, Deji of Akure, Shehu of Borno, Elegushi of Ikate, Jaja of Opobo, Lamido of Adamawa, Emir of Zazzau, Gbong Gwom Jos, Attah Igala, Alake of Egbaland, Shehu of Borno and a representative of the Oba of Benin.

The role of the Traditional Institution is one very key area that requires a complete reform to ensure security.
Until there is security the much needed progress would be an illusion.
In the Nigeria Constitution, there were no real responsibilities assigned to the Traditional Rulers. This is the time to reform it.
The incoming National Assembly has this responsibility

Oba of Benin, Lagos, Sultan of Sokoto and Emir of Ilorin & Kano will always send representatives they can NEVER and will NEVER leave their throne to visit a government officials.
