Nigeria a 5% equity holder chartered a flight from Ethiopia a 49% equity holder and were asked by Nigeria to paint the craft in Nigeria Air colors and fly it down to Nigeria for "unveiling", knowing fully well that the same Nigeria Air they both have stakes in already failed the AOC test in Nigeria and does not have any aircraft registered in Nigeria to obtain AOC.
Now tell me Ethiopian airlines was not aware of the fraudulent coloration of this exercise.

Dapo Olumide have already vindicated my earlier post. It was an unveiling not the beginning of an operation. When I got into this, I wasn't even aware of AOC! I was just puzzled why all the noise, I expected someone with half a brain to understand what was going on and that is where I came in. I never said unveiling it before May 29 was the best way to go but I explained why it was most likely done like that. Again failed to see why people do not understand what the minister's was trying to do.

Similarly, I am a bit puzzled with the current Nigerian press headlines, ‘It was chartered from Ethiopia’. If in the morning you kiss you wife goodbye that you are off to work and going to catch the bus as usual and you arrive in the evening with a car, you don't need to be a NASA scientist to find out where the car came from as the options does not run into thousands. Is it a new car? This is easy to determine. Was the Nigeria Air plane new? Have you read on Boeing, Airbus website or any of the aviation press that Nigeria Air has placed an order, is it a company car, was it rented, leased, borrowed or stolen? I expect the wife to have some idea before the husband answers. If the husband then tells the wife where the car came from then is there any cause to be running around the neighbourhood to let everyone know, especially if it was leased? It is no big deal. Next question should be why you leased the car.

Nigerians have been disappointed by past government and this has affected the way of thinking! It is like guilty until proven innocent, instead of the other way round. But there is a danger here. If you have a child and you tell him or her not to do something, but you have already told the child what you will do if he/ she disobey you. What if the child then go ahead knowing if the worst comes to the worst, this is what is going to happen, and I am ready to take the punishment! That is what you are doing. You are writing the script! Not very good for future ministers because they already know what will happen! You will only make noise, so they can go ahead. Nigeria is the only place where a market seller and a PhD holder think alike!

I dare you or David Hundeyin to post an article online accusing Ethiopian Airlines of scam and see what happens. You have no evidence whatsoever but you think what is in your head is enough, but that was not how I was trained. All I am seeing is just noise. There are people on this forum who sang Buhari's praises for 8 years and have now turned round to lambast and call him names after seeing him to his failed end. That's a move to exonerate Ethiopian Airlines of complicity given that we all know Nigeria Air cannot fly. So the plane basically came in as an Ethiopian Airlines flight in Nigerian Air colours!!

Now to the Arise clip. You obviously missed some facts i already told you. He alluded to the fact that the major hiccup with Nigerian local airlines doing well is more of financial than technical. I like the fact that just as I told you, he mentioned his covid has affected their financial vitality. Now where I disagree with Chika is that while Airlines like Ethiopian Airlines, Lufthansa, KLM etc were getting billions of dollars as lifeline during covid, our local airlines were left to suffer by same minister who is looking to partner with Ethiopian Airlines. May i ask if Ethiopia did not rescue their flagship during covid, would he have gone near it for partnership? I also disagree with his "more the merrier" maxim because in this case we need to make big fishes of our small fishes than open them up to be eaten by big fishes under the guise of more the merrier.
Let me remind you that we once had a lot of banks who couldn't play internationally until Soludo came and ordered recapitalisation, some of which occurred through mergers and acquisitions. Today, we have fewer banks but structurally and financially strong such that almost all our banks are playing on the global stage. Our minister could have developed such a model to expand our aviation sector instead of looking for shortcuts with little long term benefits for our local aviation space.
Lastly, note also that Chika also asked for level playing ground, no favoritism and cutting corners for the Nigerian Air. I ask. Based on what I've brought to your attention throughout our discussion, is that the case with Nigeria Air? Was NCAA not pressured to grant AOC to the airline while not meeting requirements, if not for the stubbornness of the DG of NCAA?
