They rolled out tanks that day on Mobolaji Bank Anthony way. Gunshots everywhere. Bodies on the road. I cannot forget it.

The next time we saw the violence again was in 2000. Agege abbatoir is a 20 minute walk from my father's house. Local Ab0ki were rioting on behalf of their kin in Kano and Kaduna and killed some Yoruba guys in the area. OPC at the height of Gani Adams and Frederick Faseun were vexing and killed a bunch of Ab0ki. Police would come in raiding van and shoot everybody.

We couldn't sleep one night because we could see the flames and smoke Ab0ki burning houses a couple miles away. OPC boys shouting (Oodua!) Rallying local support in the neighbourhood for a defence attempt. My dad was one of two on our road who had a firearm, and so went to stand at the gate of our street with niggas holding cutlass, axe, etc.

Myself and siblings climbed up to water tank area onto of the house to hide. The Ab0kis came and skirmished with bow and arrow, cutlass and sticks etc, and were chased away with bullets in bodies, and at least 2 niggas dead. The next day police came to carry my dad to Area G. We didn't see him for a couple of days, but he found his way home.

In 2002, there were 2 riots in the area. Local Ab0ki in early January were supporting some riots happening elsewhere in Lagos I think in Festac or so, and killed one egbon adugbo. The reprisal was brutal. I witnessed a malo dude get hacked to actual pieces on our street. His hand was in the gutter.

Then the Miss World Riot happened again. Abule-Egba stank for weeks. What is now a JustRite used to be thick Bush on some partly fenced land. They were pulling bodies out of there almost everyday.

You're talking about the freedom fighters that lost their lives to pro-democracy violence. The truth of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of the violence that I witnessed was completely and utterly senseless, without rhyme or reason, completely devoid of any rationality.

Violence in Nigeria is extremely ugly, has no boundaries, and is usually a free for all. When it starts, it's very hard to stop.

Any ediot calling for some sort of violence cannot have seen what the Nigerian brand of violence looks like.

Any ediat calling for violence and blowing grammar is a pseudo intellectual. I was going to put a link to Frances reign of terror. That is how it will end. We even saw it during the aftermath of the end sars riots. It is the intellectuals and middle class who are an obvious and undefended minority that will be the biggest victims

......that nattering Niwít actually wants those ugly Incidents repeat itself in Lagos again. Instead of crying here, he should lead his friends and start rioting at his present location.

An Education Bank will be established to handle the students loan.

Good one.

This. It is not the local hoodlum who has no value for his life who will lose when anarchy breaks loose.

The last EndSars claimed the life of Oke, a promising UX designer who did a lot of impressive work on the Sterling Bank/Go Money apps.

This is a good deal in principle. Let's see how the fine print especially as regards to funding will be? Is it the banks or the federal government that provide funds? What of the oversight to prevent the process being corrupted by the nigerian factor? Is it open and accessible to everyone?

But nonetheless, a very worthy and noble step, even though it's an inherited bill.

This whole issue reminds me of ngige working his ass off to buy the love of the anambarians because everyone knew his victory was rigged, ngige embarked on immense road network building across the state but that didn't stop justice from taking it's course. His victory was revoked and the rightful winner and people's choice declared. History about repeating itself.

Tinubu today has signed the student loan bill into law. The bill seeks to provide interest free loans to indigent Nigerian students.

The bill was sponsored by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.

I can't wait to read the content of the bill and the framework to make it work.
We need employee loan too undecided

Why? People turn off things they are not using and if the money finishes they rest till they can afford to recharge. It's a million times better than estimated billing.

as an example

while obj, shehu sani , yardua etal were collecting woto woto, Peter Obi was living it up working under oga goggles. Today Peter obi is a celebrated politician, while several of the people who actually stood up to Abacha are dead.

That Obi guy is a scam. His followers are gullible.

Okay, I missed the "no"

Prepaid is the best. Those bàstàrds just write whatever they like on the estimated bill and expect you to pay

I don't know what you are talking about but I know of Obi that reportedly used his family members to hide funds, the 'wristwatch' and 'shoe' lie, among other lambas.

Those that will be ineligible to enjoy the student-loan bill signed by PBAT;

• those of you owing Palmpay, Kuda and other organizations
• those of you convicted of a felony or any offence involving dishonesty or fraud
• those of you found guilty of exam malpractice by any school authority

Let me add that repayment of the loan will be two years after completion of NYSC and it would be by direct deduction of 10% of the beneficiary’s salary at source by the employer.

Where the beneficiary is self-employed, he shall remit 10% of his total profit monthly.

Good one by Mr President, he has fulfilling one of his campaign promise. Buhari refused to signe this bill into law, so this is very commendable...

Like the bolded. Would also hope that to become eligible for the loan, Some minimum academic criteria would have to be involved
