Thanks for your honest opinion about Aba. It's obvious you were surprised to see a large city with fairly tall buildings and not a place filled with bad roads, refuse and shanties as you were made to believe.

Aba is a unique city in Nigeria, and alongside Onitsha and Nnewi, they're the indigenous production centers, capable of making Nigeria great like the Asian Tigers.

The average Aba citizen believes in hardwork and perseverance. The youths are contented with doing spectacular works for little profit, while focusing on mass production to break even. You can check Azikiwe by Kent. That's the cloth production capital of Nigeria. There are hundreds of shops here producing shirts, trousers, bedspreads, boxers, suits, lab coats and overalls etc. You will see bails going to different parts of Nigeria and beyond!

Also go to Ariaria and find your way to Bakassi area. Here, you will find hundreds of shops and warehouses producing shoes, bags and all types of leather works. You will also see lots of them being packed into bails for distribution all over Nigeria and beyond.

Aba has lots of production hubs where different things are produced. Unfortunately, there is another section around Cemetery where fake and substandard things are produced. However, it's the job of government to stop illegal activities going on around Cemetery area.

Aba has vast potential and that's why Barth Nnaji built Nigeria's first big power station there, to serve the large SME's. There are also industrial estates at Osisioma, Eziama, River layout and Umuokohia. In these places, you will find breweries, bottling companies, flour mills, Vegetable oil, glass production, machine tools, drugs etc.

Even though Igbo language is spoken widely by default, virtually everyone will easily switch to English or pidgin if they realize you're not Igbo. They don't discriminate against outsiders because lots of people from different parts of Nigeria come to the city to buy goods everyday.

Enjoy your stay!

Why are you crying more than the bereaved?
1) IPOB are destroying SE is no concern to me.

2) If only you could read with comprehension, you would have realised that I was only cautioning Nigerians to be carefully or totally desist from going to that EVIL FOREST called SE

First photo is a big Hospital built by Ikpeazu in old Aba township followed by Azikiwe road he also built and lastly the road to his community within Aba urban. What propagandists do is to search and pick out every fault and exaggerate them. For example if a road develops fault at one or two spots or has heap of garbage at a junction you'll most likely see those ones online as if most of the road or area isn't good.
Abagworo, so you're still alive and you just decided to keep mute, no update anymore on imo forum, are you scared of that idiot called Chino? He shouldn't be the reason my brother. Am happy to see you showing us the beautiful city of Aba.. come back to your base once on a while, we know you have your own things you're doing. You're one of the best nairalnder...

I'm here for a friend's wedding for the next few days, I was able to move around the major streets and inner city areas and I must say Alex Otti seems to be doing quite a fantastic job with sanitizing Aba; lots of cleaner roads, clear signs of urban improvements seem to be going on like widening of major Federal roads, renovation of old buildings and demolishing of shanties etc...

I must admit Igbos love their tall buildings/bungalows or "Uno enu" as they like to call it here. Ariaria market seems cleaner and more organized as well. Almost every young person I've met in Ariaria market seems to be engaged in one form of trade or tech skill, nobody is idle...everybody is just on the movie.

Kudos to Alex Otti, I hope he continues the momentum cause Abia state looks very promising I won't lie.
Please stop disgracing Otti... if you want to promote him find a better way. The guy just begin and already you are making it seem as if he has created things like in Genesis within the beginning 7 days... COOLIO DOWN nah...

Otti is leagues better than the trio criminals of Orji Kali, THEO Orji, and the fat stomach Ikpeazu....but let him do his work

Ipob are possessed with NMK's spell, they're illitérates don't blame them. Buying and selling has a way of messing with peoples mind, they came from a particular state in igboland, not all Igbos are ipob/ESN.

Aba is the fastest developing and most peaceful city in Southeast as at present. No unknown gunmen and no political crisis. It is left for the new Government not to spoil it like they did to Owerri playing dirty politics.
Uzodinma did noting wrong, ipob only directed their zombies to relocate their camps from Onitsha and Ihiala to Orlu, Hope Uzodinma trying to stop their activities by sending Airforce, the people started blaming him for killing ESN.

You are a miserable fellow. How did politics destroy Owerri flyover, Owerri tunnel, Owerri ICC, dilapidated roads, etc. stop deceiving yourself. Okorocha was a failure

Abagworo:
It's all politics. There is nothing wrong with Owerri flyovers except politics of trying to deny Okorocha his credits which is also reason for demolition of tunnels and roundabouts then Hospitals fully completed demolished or abandoned to rot as waste. Know this and know peace. But my eeason for rating Okorocha very high is not about building this or that but he was focused on education for all which is the best gift you can give anyone you love. His policy of free education for all Imo citizens in Imo owned schools from Primary to University changed the lives of many who would have remained poor and uneducated. Human capacity building is ahead of concretes and sand but then he did all .

we know at some point Okorocha built substandard roads and projects because he had little resources in his disposal. But he was a good man.

Every region have their peculiar security challenges but you made it look like the south east is worst because of what the media made you to believe.
You need to move out of your enclave to realise that your region is worst

In reality they're actually fed these type of propaganda on a regular basis and from the cradle. I've seen it first hand. A friend of mine from the Yoruba stock told me so. Infact he said the first time he came to my house in Lagos, he was afraid I would kill him and eat. Now you can imagine what they have been told about going to the South East
More than 3 different Yoruba brothers in the church have given account of what they were told while coming for NYSC here. They were told that Igbos eat human beings. And that made them so fearful and full of restraint. But they realised it was all lies later. It's a really propaganda

Stop pushing this narrative so we can move on...

Rochas Okorocha was a common thief as governor of Imo State so don't go there....

Which silly free education are you talking about?

The only reason Rochas is not facing serious prosecution yet is because the present occupant of that office is even worse...

God will deliver Imo State from veteran 419 men...

The fixation has reached manic proportions...

There is no non state capital in Nigeria that has a more beautiful city than this.

Even state capitals in the SW don't have such layout. People that still live in dilapidated mud houses but you will see them running their mouths on nairaland as if Igbos are their mates.

if you claim it's your first time how come the roads are now 'cleaner' and more 'organised' ?
go and learn propaganda work well baba, you are still a learner.

Since you claim its your first time visiting, the word "cleaner" or "more organised" shouldnt be used by you as they both suggest comparison ie you have been there before. I hope you dont feel offended though cause i have a goal of making humans better one person at a time.
It could mean cleaner than what the media portray Aba to be.
