Jesus said to those who wanted to stone the prostitute, if you know you have never sinned, cast the first stone. And they all left. And this same woman stood by Jesus through thick and thin.

All am saying is that, those who are blackmailing Tinubu for no just cause should cast a stone if they have never erred. Because I see this same Tinubu they are casting using Media and all forms of blackmailing weaponry taking Nigeria to where it ought to be.

Like play, since he came in the herdsmen have been using the cutlass to weed grasses and not to weed people. No problem O.

The lives taken under Buhari awaits him after death, he would wish he could rise again to defend the common farmer who just wanted to save his crops because he needed to feed his family. ...

I stand by Jagaban! Am neither holy and am not the baddest nor the best. In God I trust to help Jagaban rid this country of people from Niger Republic and Cameroon from ever getting involved in our polity again.

Peace!!!

Today, I have decided that you are my President. I supported Peter Obi because he had extensive campaigns about key evolutionary issues and Tinubu is fully implementing these policies that will enable the poor to access education and gather intelligence. Though my kids are not qualified for this loan, because obviously I can afford to pay my kids education fees, but I applaud it.

Liberalizing the Electricity sector, floating the naira, and other programmes on the pipelines like State and Local Govt Police will finally enable us to have hope in our country.

Now, I am proud to say, I am Nigerian by virtue of this renewed Hope in action.

This brings to an end any form of subsidized tertiary education in Nigeria

Starting next session, the tuition fees in any FG university will be similar to the rates in private universities. To all those hailing this move, just hold on a bit until the gnashing of teeth starts. Please note that less than 30% of students who request for these loans will get approved.... thanks to Nigeria's endemic bureaucracies.

And you can guess what happens to the funds that would have funded the tertiary education..... to be looted by the current FG and all the vultures waiting in the wings

Nigerians are the easiest people to deceive.... we never reason beyond our noses and tribes

Dont kill this idea before it even starts..

Let them start it ..see the flaws ...modified it....

And make it better...

We need folks that are bold to try new ideas....

The so call student loan is wickedness in disguise. Imagine giving student loan and not subsidizing tuition fee is disaster waiting. I saw some group of NAS going to sing solidarity in the state house not knowing a chunk of them will not even graduate from the tertiary institution with the introduction of tuition fee. I attended a federal university with subsidized tuition fee I can only imagine when student start paying lecturer take home. Some of Tinubu policies are anti-people but alot don't see because of nepotism.

Kai God bless your reasoning.
I'm a Youruba but I have to reappraise on this supposed hit the ground running of BAT policies they're indeed anti-people
The administration is a total war against subsidies with zero hope of prosperous end.

You are an enemy of Nigeria. His policies are not anti people. We can not continue doing the same thing, same way and failing all the time. This same treatment u are asking for is what past leaders have been doing and no results. You people will still wail and term him failure if he also follows same route and fail expectedly. Allow him to tow any path he views can make him deliver. By 2027, u also can come out or sponsor someone to use ur own ideology. Shikena

What if someone collects a loan and japa afterwards, what then?

We still have a long way to go, all our socioeconomic lives need to be synchronized in such a way that once you visit a hospital or need anything from the government, your entire history would show. This would make sure defaulters won't get away with it.

For example, someone who japa after refusing to pay the loan should be made to pay it whenever he wants to renew his passport abroad or get a CofO for a property in Nigeria. We need to deal heads on with this Nigerian attitude of not wanting to pay bank loans, otherwise, this bill wiill die a natural death.

Whoever that condemns this is an enemy of progress. This same thing is done in all developed countries. You people that are condemning this should ask your relatives living in overseas whether same thing is obtainable there. Countries that had achieved high level of literacy towed this same line. The repayment of the loan will start after 2 years of graduation, which, to me, is the best thing to happen to the indigent students

This needs to be extended to private universities. Not just government universities. It also needs to be secured. In the sense that you should provide proof of being a Nigerian or legal permanent resident. That way, you don't have people from Benin republic or Niger coming to Nigeria to get free money, then running back to their country after taking the loan.

School fees may increase across all federal universities.

The students loan could be another way to gain more supporters during election e.g. loan cancellation or debt forgiveness

Since some parents are borrowing to pay their children school fees, the students loan is not a bad idea because it is interest free.
what this system is proposed to do is allow the university charge market rates and thereby raise quality. Those who can pay will pay and those who cannot will be offered interest free loans. That is the theory
It sounds good on paper but implementation is key.
The other thing with this system is that people can now put a price on the cost of going to university. To answer the question
What is The cost of university education in Nigeria. Right now no one knows for public universities. Even if the loan is written off in future people will know what the government has done for them . Right now everyone is entitled and ungrateful

My view is that apart from this government should hands off and ensure genuine autonomy.
If our universities are of world class no one would go to Cambridge
Back in the day in Unilag Aikhomu's children were there and many children of top Nigerians . People came from Cameroon and other African countries.
Apart from this government needs to pay attention to vocational education

What percentage of Nigerians to go university . Is it up ton10%? What about those who don't go to university or higher institutions .
Why should I who start working at 18 as a conductor or tailor pay tax to subsidize university for my mates because I no know book? Think deep government must be for all not elite. Those training as vulcanizers, mechanics, bricklayers, electricians etc get no subsidy

The Draft Bill says a Moratorium of Two Years. So, what happens after Two Years ND the Student is yet to secure a Job? A Further Moratorium I would think.

Baba, think outside the box. Life is not gloomy when u are educated . Fortunately for us, the current president is a man of the private sector and he is aware of the benefit of creating jobs for student that commit to student loans. Imagine your capacity and wider outlook, reach and ratings when you obtain a higher education, particularly when you come from poorest of the poor homes in comparison with your ssce certificate in the current state of Nigeria economy. Think through man.

Great intervention by the government.

But, what happens when the beneficiary gets rusticated from the school eventually without a degree which will qualify him for a job which he will use to pay back?

I think we Nigerian are very gullible. How can someone give you a loan to pay Tuition fees that was free !!!!! . Is that not foolishness. Na wa Nigerian youths, wakeup. This loan is to put you in abject poverty. Students never had to pay Tuition fees (apart from library, Accommodation etc) and so they were free of any obligation to pay any loan. Now You are given a loan to pay tuition fees(Paid Directly to the university) and you pay back to Federal government when u start working. The more you look the less you see (Abracadabra). Nigerians students are now worse off and in debt Another Scam..

As long as 30% of the Citizens are doing fine. Automatically everyone is doing fine and the government have done so well. That's the system Nigeria is practicing and what will always be practiced.

My advise to you is Just do your own thing and be successful as much as you can. Stop bothering about the Gullible Lowlives. That's how they will always be.
