Why I said Lagos roads are too small for them… Even when they drive, one big pot hole and they are stuck there for hours.

trailer/tanker drivers have never been reasonable people. much like any other commercial driver in lagos. they have no regard or concern about others. this is also a lagosian thing as a person can literally park his broken down car in the middle of the road and call a mechanic, rather than move it.

but unlike most other commercial transporters, they are moving energy and they have the power to ground lagos. so punitive/disciplinary measures will not work on them. and this is a democracy. proscribing them is not an option.

until there is an alternative way of transporting fuel , nothing will change.

the problem with gas for me is that you cannot properly ration it. i pour 5 - 8 litres at a time into my gen. i avoid filling the tank. sometimes when it goes off you find there has been power but you did not hear the siren. with lpg cylinder, if you are not careful, you will just dey run dey go.

As good as I like this, Customs and NIMASA mandate is beyond just revenue generation, border protection and integrity is also part of their mandate.

Surprisingly Customs is an MDA under the ministry of finance when they are a paramilitary force and should naturally be under the ministry of interior.

PBAT will have to send different Bill's to the NASS to remove revenue generation from Customs and NiMASA and move both of them to ministry of interior and if possible merge Customs with immigration.

Tanker drivers are a special breed. We sef dey fight them all the time in a game of cat and mouse where they steal product from the tankers they are driving and we try to catch them. Make too much noise and it is another problem.
