Today is making it 7months since I lost my job and I have not been able to land myself another job. The little my wife earns isn't enough to cater for us. I'm just so tired and confused. My daughter's expenses is also by the corner. I just hope I wake up from this dream of joblessness.

Una funny o...JOB for this present day Nigeria..how much dem wan pay you ? 😂

You lost your job not your LIFE. You don't need a job, you need a business and side hustles that fetch you daily income.

No JOB in Nigeria...but theres work you can turn into a fulltime JOB.

Your kids can't inherit your job..(JUST OVER BROKE)...start something and scale it.....put your life into it.....

We are over 200 million Nigerians , sell to 1% of that population and smile to the bank.

Times have changed..you need start thinking radically.

Where do you reside currently, you'd need to roll up your sleeves and hit the ground running immediately.

If you are in Lagos or any of the cosmopolitan cities, you need some tools.

- Phone , internet , Laptop (not necessary) , facebook, instagram page, twitter, jumia, konga, facebook marketplace, jiji , etc.

List your products on those platforms..You can start with 100k - 1M...

- go and learn how to run ads (facebook , instagram , google ads , SEO )

- know how to take good pictures.

- use a good logistics company for deliveries.

Enter street, look for big time importers, negotiate with them. Tell them you will bring customers and sell thier products very fast.

One of the hot products i started out with and grew it to a 6 figure business > >

Not just money...

You will build your confidence.
Your influence will grow, and...
You’ll attract more opportunities to yourself.
You need to start operating smartly.

Look for a business that is offline, bring it online and get them SALES.

You all should stop this.

Did he say he didn't provide for his wife when he had a job?

You call it partnership, this is the partnership you are reffering to. Each hand helping the other, not unidirectional but multidirectional.

Let her go back to her parents home then go out and hustle. Send as much as you can to her while she is with family. If not, she will lose respect for you and possibly go to another man.

He's not looking for job, but sympathy. He seems like the lazy type. There may be no corporate job at the moment, but he can always engage himself with work, even if it's bagging water in a pure water factory. But of course, someone is feeding him so he's relaxed.

My comment was for the men that say wives aren't family.

When they face issues, do they go to their mothers?

Do they they also believe their mothers are fake families to their dads?

Life is in phases and you have just been ushered into one of them phases. Set pride or ego aside, you have to get busy, don't be idle, do small odd jobs, anything that adds a little naira to your pocket. Theres dignity in labour. Talk to a few people among your circle of friends, former colleagues, religious group about job openings that they can notify you of. Trust me something will come up. It is better than lazying around, lamenting and waiting for your wife to cook the next meal. Things will work out well

Ignorance.
The average man is naturally gifted with capabilities that could fetch him three times the wages of a woman.

This is just the average man.

Bros, don't wait until your wife and her family starts openly disrespecting you before you realize that women have little patience for unemployed men.

If you can not bring yourself to do brick layer / site work then you have to think of some other legitimate way to make some money to contribute to the home before your wife and her family starts calling you lazy or worse.

If I were in your shoes, I would even prefer to move out of the house far away so that my expenses are not being borne by my wife and I will only come back to the house when I have some money to contribute to the house expenses.
