Buhari's nepotism infected all of us. Look at Frontpage.

Two different threads based on the religion and state of origin of the appointees.

The nepotism "virus" (as you rightly called it) has spread beyond Aso Rock and has now infected all of us.

A few years back only buhari was appointing based on ethnicity and state of origin. Today, we are all celebrating Tinubu's appointment based on that and no one seems to be asking if these hands are competent.

So no, this virus has not affected Tinubu but the nation itself. The core of the nation, it's very citizens.

Like you trying to defend Tinubu at all cost without even understanding what I'm talking about.

Like a robot, once you see Tinubu and nepotism used in the same sentence, you swing into defensive mode without even understanding the context.

That is the nepotism virus I'm talking about. We citizens are supposed to defend our democracy but no, we rather defend our ethnic group.

I don't know why one south east appointment out of about 22 appointment made yesterday is making headline.This is the headlined allover the press and internet.This goes along way to further justify the claimed marginalisation .
Party support is different from what a president of country should do.Once,you become a president ,you automatically become the president of the country.And it is your responsibility to rule without tribal sentiment.This was one on the greatest undoing of Buhari.

But the primordial ethnic bias in his appointments thus far is CONDEMNABLE!

He clearly has adopted his predecessor’s “5% vs 95%” philosophy…
Albeit he (unlike Buhari) is just clever enough not to actually verbalize it.

Reality of “federal character” is that Ibos are the 3d largest ethnic group…
And yet the President has made 33 prominent appointments thus far, and only 2 are Ibo.

By contrast, of the 33 (22 yesterday, 7 Special Advisers, acting CBN Gov, SFG, COS, DCOS)…
14 has been from the President’s own ethnic group, which is at best only slightly larger than the Ibos.

Personally, I have routinely argued for merit over “federal character”…
But no one can RATIONALLY contend that there is a lack of meritorious Ibos.

Just as worrying is the continued lack of “national character” in Nigerian public life…
Accordingly, of the 33 appointees, only a mere 4 are WOMEN (51% of the Nigerian population). SMH

.. but you can vote based on tribal sentiment given 97% of votes to only Obi and now you turn to preacher of equality in governance. Other people that worked tirelessly should not be compensated. If he is biased, Igbo will not even get anything in the first place where they never sowed, and you shouldn't have mouth to talk in what you never join to contribute. Even Bible supports if you don't work, you don't need to eat. You don't even need to complain in government you don't have interest in.
