The one budget that is almost impossible to reduce is national assembly budget because senators and House of rep members will have to agree and vote for the reduction.

You don see where Turkey vote for Christmas before. Na.

If the National Assembly has a choice between closing all primary schools in the country for 2 years due to lack of money and cutting their own budget to keep schools open, I know which one they will choose.

Any President that tries to reduce their budget significantly faces impeachment.

Senators and House members don't joke with their money.

They agreed to remove subsidy for the common man but will never give up their own subsidy.

The same people urging Nigerians to make sacrifices with the fuel subsidy can't make sacrifices by reducing their huge allowance

Providing adequate accommodation for public officials is an important aspect of ensuring efficient governance. However, it's essential to ensure that such expenditures are made with transparency and accountability in mind, taking into consideration the needs of all citizens. Let's hope that this allocation will be used judiciously and result in a positive impact on the nation.

The poor Nigerian masses are the ones to subsidize the political class under Tinubu.

Over 5 billion for house and idiots are celebrating the removal of fuel subsidy when it's very obvious these people are only trying to make more money available to themselves for more looting.
Keep celebrating appointments and signing of bills. Shows how shallow some of you have become. You can call me Igbo or ipob or even a wailer I don't care. Just know that these people in power are taking you for a ride.

You go just die over nothing. You ha left the topic of discussion to be saying the trash you discussed in your beer joint.

Buhari and the last National Assembly approved this expenses, not Emilokan Tinubu, but Tinubu can still look into it. But, he wouldn’t now, he won’t want to start a confrontation with the National Assembly now, until he settles down

So every year, una go collect 24billion. And it keeps going up. While being paid heavy salaries per year. If you are paid that kind of heavy salary that runs into $400,000 and above per each member, accomodations is not supposed to be given to you. You sort your accomodations out yourself. This people eeh. Dem go kill una.

Personally as one of those supposed idiots who celebrates the end of fuel subsidy, I would be glad if we could use that 25 billion for the subsidy instead of the House thieves

But this year we spent 3 trillion, plus 600 billion on subsidy. Government still owes NNPC 2.8 trillion subsidy money. 25 billion won't be enough even for one month of subsidy payments.

Might help fund a university or two better though

PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH!!!

These are just policies developed by RMFAC ..which is yet approved by NASS and State Houses of Assembly.

RMFAC has tried increasing allowances of political office holders since 2017 or so...they failed. What makes you think this will scale through

Why making this look like a law already in place

Now Nairalanders are already abusing Tinubu as if na new thing

This is outrageous.

The law makers job should be a part time job. I don't see anything special in what they are doing.

Their salaries should be equivalent to that of civil servants.

This way, only serious minded people will contest for senate or house of reps.

I don't think any politician cares about your suffering. It's either you get there and join them or enter crime to get rich.
Nigeria as a nation seems finished. Except Tinubu does something different. So far I am happy with what the APC president has been doing ,only this particular matter worries me that he hasn't yet taken steps to cut down the legislature expenditures.

But it's still too early yet let us pray for him and be positive
Whenever I hear pray for leader like a drug baron, I see such comment as comment coming from a failure

To save cost, they should make the sittings in the legislature a Part time business and they should also be paid the minimum wage of the Nigerian workers with just sitting allowances, then gradually watch how the mad rush by people to go to the legislature will be drastically reduced with only few and passionate people vying for elective positions.
