Is that not indirectly defending the Naira , when you are battling with market forces. ..put the right parameters in place, so we can measure economic growth, take informed and calculated decisions, put the right infrastructure, and let Nigerian know that there destiny is in there hands by encouraging productivity in all sectors. |

LagosFirstSon:I don't know why basic economics is difficult for this people If u want to float then float then face the consequences of the floating Exchange rate is not a problem like Peter obi said even if naira exchange for 1500 no problem but let the exchange be stable let the change in exchange not be more than plus or minus 2% within 10 years That's the kokon |

So, what is the difference between this and Emefiele approach. This one one step forward, five backward. |

Please if it is available, they should use it skillfully to bring that exchange rate down. I quoted someone a price based on N770 yesterday around noon and few hours later it went up by N40 thereby making me look foolish. |

When you decide to float the naira without deep economic afterthought, this is what you get. Untill we start producing that which we consume, there is no way out of this mess. |

mrvitalis:stabilization isn't defending. It is a bit like a big man with some dollar to spare deciding to exchange them for Naira before paying with or spending it. |
| Re: FG Pledges More Dollar Supply To Stabilise Naira by EmeeNaka: 10:59am On Jun 22, 2023 |
Hmmm So, government is becoming uncomfortable with the free fall of Naira? Well, Tinubu government has no idea on how to move the country. I just wish he doesn't end up wasting the valuable time of Nigerian youths |

Iykopee:A robust production of.our need is the way out that's why I laugh when they say govt has no business doing business. What we have is enough to invest but not to go and sit down to start pillaging and burning. Govt must own farms, industries, and vocational centres that aren't full time institutions. |

Iykopee:The main problem is looting and miss management not production. Many Arab countries produce lesser than Nigeria, but they manage their economy very well and they don't loot like Nigeria.. Even if we become a manufacturing power house, the presence of corruption will still make the Naira worthless. |
| Re: FG Pledges More Dollar Supply To Stabilise Naira by Dotherightthing: 12:03pm On Jun 22, 2023 |
mrvitalis:Nowhere in the world does the exchange rate dangle up and down. The idea of the floating is to determine the true exchange rate and then peg it. Another reason for floating is to make all the rates as close as possible. Of course, some pained saboteurs are at work to frustrate the policy. I trust the FG to outsmart them ![]() |

It's really getting out of hand. You lots technically devalued the Naira and not the floating turenshi you're telling us. Why not move all hogs against the speculators and the black marketers? As long as they loiter around, there won't be any solution in this fight, if there's any fight at all. |

In other words, FG plans to defend the naira with dollars it doesn't have after floating the Naira. One step forward and two steps backward |
