Those hailing this administration are those either benefiting from it or the suffering never reach them. Ee go touch everybody, with time.
Yes, if your candidate had won, each Nigerian would have owned a Rolls Royce.

If you are living abroad and have some families here in Nigeria, pls don't hesitate to reach out to your brothers, sisters, uncles and aunties here in Nigeria.

The situation on ground is so bad that u see people groaning and talking to themselves, well kitted men and women turned cunny beggars just to meet up with daily activities.

Most families that I know have dump their cars especially here in Abuja. When u move around the city,u will see the situation on ground.

The subsidy removal has affected everything including the way of life of many people here in Nigeria. In my office today, many guys now come to office few times in a week just to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal.

Now that the electricity tariff is about to go up...I wonder how people would cope going forward.

And for those who feel everything is normal, just wait it will soon go round,no one would be spared.
I really felt this.. he go reach everybody both those that never voted.

@ OP, I live overseas and best believe, I work round the clock to make ends meet because of responsibilities from family and friends
in Nigeria. I used to be a university lecturer in Nigeria but God bless the day I took the drastic decision to leave that country that has ruined so many lives. How can a university lecturer, PhD holder beg to feed his family? Since I left Nigeria in 2012, no salary increase with hyperinflation. A PhD holder in a Nigerian university now earns around 160k/month and thats like $200. How much is a bag of rice?
Nigerians living overseas had high hopes in this last election because the responsibilities of sending money back home was unbearable and it seems it will get worse with this new administration. This is what happens when you give recycled and habitual thieves access power.
Shatap.

So you think your candidates woukd have turned the economy around in even 6 months?

Dumb lecturer.

Great thing you left the country.

You would have been poison to the students.

And those living abroad, who will reach out to them or you think it's all bed of roses for them?

With all the natural disasters happening around the world daily, how many of our people have reached out to their relatives abroad just to check on them and ask how they are surviving?

All Nigerians do everyday is expect everyone else to pity them when they themselves don't have any atom of empathy for anyone else.

There's suffering everywhere and I advocate that people lend helping hands to each other but don't just single out those living abroad because they themselves are also facing hardship too.

People at home are even better off because they have villages to run to and arable lands to cultivate in the event of extreme hardship unlike people abroad who become homeless so easily.
Good point.

There is need for rural migration.
If ye urban area is harsh? Relocate
There is fresh vegetables, cassava, yam in abundance and life is generally cool.
You don't need to pay rent.
You can trek to any distance but be ready for mosquito bites

If what you have described above is suffering then you can never cope in Lagos from 1985 to 1998 niyen.

You are indeed the privileged generation who can buy phones, data and still come on Nairaland to while away time and even insult, cyberbully anyone who types a contrary opinion when you should be on a site carrying ponpon and embracing real VIRTUE of hardwork!

In your generation, someone who is suffering is someone who will rather beg for food and trek rather than give off social media. Nonsense and ingredient! You guys will be alright o las las because the era of lazy youth is gone! Asiwaju will not even call you lazy, he will force you to think , work and create solution to real social problems in exchange for money.
May helpers elude you and the other 9 f00lls who liked this your daft comment .

You are even going too far.

A relative reached out to me the other day for help via WhatsApp saying his family was starving. I called him later on and he was at a bar drinking. I said haa, uncle you still see money to dey drink beer and he responded saying "I'm drinking to forget the too many problems in this country".

I was furious at that point. I respectfully told him, do you know if you had saved money you spent on two bottles of beer, that's dinner money right there.

The thing is that Nigerians hate to make adjustments. Small thing, they start begging for help when all they need is just little adjustment and everything will be fine.

What they don't realize is that their family members abroad work round the clock and deny themselves some good things of life just to make extra and send back home whereas they the recipients don't want to deny themselves anything.

They do owambe all the time and still expect you that don't have the liberty to do an owambe to sponsor their own owambe. No be juju be that?
In as much I perfectly agree with most of the thing you said but the generalization is a bit overreaching. There are many Nigerians that are not sagacious and foolish with spending but the truth is giving the inflation with amount people earn many people ordinarily will fall within the poverty line. The state government are yet to keep up with the 30k minimum wage, let alone the LG and this is monthly income, how much of items can the 30k a month purchase. Till Nigerian government do their bit please it is insensitive to blame the poor masses that try to channel their frustration on something else

OP,

Nothing new. Things are hard everywhere, but the difference is how the extent people go to trim costs. Many Nigerians are still thinking of hosting parties, expensive burial ceremonies, weddings, birthday bashes, buying expensive phones etc. To cap it, having plenty of children yanfu-yanfu. To be honest, I do not think Nigerians, especially in Southern Nigeria, are suffering o. Instagram and Facebook pictures tell a different story.
The bolded just nullify your good point. Don't judge any society by what there citizens put out on social media, social media were created for make-believe and that is exactly what people there are using it for.

Why are so foolish and insensitive, does foolishness runs in your generation. Did they place a generational curse of foolish and mumurism in your generation.
Someone did her best to gift a bag of rice to 8 widows and you are here saying she should talk with sense did they curse you, is your brain 1mb don't you have capacity to reason, why do you choose to be a mistake of a human being among your generation.

Beware I'm expecting your quote and I will drag you till your brain capacity increase from 1mb to 4mb that is the best you can get.

Atiku and Obi were both saying subsidy should go too....

Elections have consequences, but on the subsidy matter, we had reached point zero. It did not matter who we elected (and no, I still wish we voted APC out, completely)...the subsidy was becoming unsustainable. We were paying a large chunk of our revenue with borrowed money on top for the thing.
Everyone believe subsidy should go the difference is timing and measures on ground to cushion effects...

YES! election have consequences, the only way Nigeria can move forward is when politicians "genuinely" believe the masses have the power and "sincerely" do things for the benefit of the masses that is the only way forward. As long as politicians rely on their fellow politicians to deliver them through party structure or using religion and tribalistic propaganda, the poor masses will keep bearing the brunt...

What is the essence of bringing a "good" policy when the policy implementation will firstly kill off a lot of the people through starvation before yielding it's positives?

Inflation is rising in the US , Europe and all African nations.
This situation is not peculiar to Nigeria.
The global recession index is tickling by the day.
Economic and Political uncertainty is the order of the day.
World 🌎🌍 leaders are more confused 😕🤔😕🤔😕🤔 more than in any other period in the history of Mankind.
