That's what we get when you effect policies non strategically because you think Togo, Benin, Cameron, Niger are benefiting from your country than the plight of your very own citizens.
Tinubu acted irrational.

He should have first ensured Nigerians were safe catered to first before effecting these policies....

No matter how anyone kick. Certainly government can't continue to pay subsidy on dollars and petrol. That's the fact. Let's face it and find different solutions arround it. There is no problems without solutions. This is an Era of thinking, Era of looking for different solutions to the problem we face instead of kick and complaining. Let's think.

The bigger question is if the customs is transacting in dollars or naira? This is a very important question we should be asking, if the government itself can start dollarizing the economy. Last I checked, we spend naira in Nigeria, not dollars.
why would they be using dollars? same with electricity...We aren't earning dollars so don't tie everything to dollars

These people think you can improve the economy by taxing the people to death. They should read about other countries that tried it to know if their economy improved . Once your citizens are poor your economy is going no where but downwards.

Customs can't have a different exchange rate from the government 's own rate. All government agencies will adjust to the new official rate. They have no choice.

What those involved in car importation should lobby for is a reduction in the import duty.

Mr Buhari 's government increased it to 40% in order to encourage local production of cars, but 95% of car buyers in Nigeria can't afford a new locally produced car. So, the policy doesn't appear to be working.

Therefore, import duty should be reduced to 20% max until further notice.

99% actually

The president or his spokespersons should be on the mic 247. Things go out of hand when you don't carry the people along in your policy direction. This was what Buhari did which turned out to be a monumental failure. Things ain't looking good ATM tho.

Nigerians have no clue what is coming, It will be almost impossible to survive for some.

For an import driven economy like Nigeria, this is a dead end and if Nigerians are lucky, there might be an uprising that the FG might be unable to manage. Otherwise... many will die and the deaths will be in large numbers.
according to them, Tinubu's policies are the best in the world. He is a magician who's policies will turn Nigeria to Tokyo in a few weeks. After all, he turned Lagos to Las Vegas as governor.

I was about to object your comments in the beginning, but vis a vis, you did just to both side. As you said , the government must reduce the import duties to compensate for naira/dollars policy, if not things will get out of hand and our 1k will not even buy a bottle of coke time to come
