From the narrative, it's got nothing to do with the banks. Except he doubts your identity-which is unlikely- he's to return your money or convince you to buy fish for that amount. Ideally he should transfer back to the same account you used, and not give you cash.

Same thing happened to my sister. She did a photoshoot of 7k. She transferred money to the guy's opay, and didn't know it went since sometimes it will tell u processing and not show sign. She sent another one to his first bank each 7k. She was thinking the opay own didn't go since they didn't alert her and the guy didn't tell her anything. After like a week she noticed that her money was short, after checking her transaction history, she saw that the transaction actually went and the fact she saw this guy like twice before then and he didn't say anything. When she told him at first the guy wanted to start denying that he didn't see anything until she sent him the transaction details from the back directly he now started saying he didn't know the money enter that he just saw the details today and he doesn't have any money with him.

You don't have to go to the bank to confirm that you have received money.

There's alerts. there's mobile app. There's internet banking There's ATM. There's even ussd by most banks to check some recent transactions. So leaving his business is not the matter. Does he not have time to pay his suppliers? Does he not close from work? He probably is not giving the matter the attention it deserves because it is in his favour.

Yes, the op mentioned 10k. And the amount is irrelevant. Even if it is 1k, it is not your money. Why hold on to it? Imagine that someone he doesn't know mistakingly transfers #200k to this one.

My advice to the op is to not involve any police/military. Go to his shop and openly demand your money. And please remember to give us full details of their business address so we don't do the mistake of branching there next time.
