Cooly100: Ofcourse only you Okoro goats refuse to accept SS as a separate region because you still see us as territory to be conquered and occupied. Hence why you refuse to accept the SS as a separate geopolitical and cultural entity. I have warned you. Stay off the Niger Delta . Cooly100: In this same useless thread you were all over yourselves claiming the entire river streams that flow from your region into the Niger Delta and drains into the Atlantic as your property. Is that not stealing ? The rivers you are even claiming are sourced from both the Benue and Niger River. With such logic, Guinea and Cameron where these rivers originate from have rights to all shorelines and coastal basins were the rivers flow and drain into. Una no get sense. And it shows you idiots did not understand why it was us in the Niger Delta that resisted Buhari's satanic water bill that attempted to control the water ways and declare shorelines as federal land . You see why I say there is absolutely no difference between you goats and the Fulani ? 9 Likes 3 Shares |

proeast: I agree, accessibility to alaigbo is very important. One point i have to raise is where are people geting the exagarrated nautical miles of ports? Onne, PH and lagos cant be that far. The ports in alaigbo are river ports and should likely be further inland, which plays into their advantage of being an efficient transportation method as a goods are transported inland via waterways and not simply deposited at a coastal port then using truck transported to the rest of the country. 4 Likes |

I think this is the best news so far, the maritime economy will create more than 2 million jobs in the south east, it will help our financial houses to achieve full potential, raise igr by as much as 500 percent , increase exports via the eastern corridors. next is to push bills via the various houses of assembly and have necessary maritime laws established. Let's see the double headed demons that will try to stop this, if it will not lead to an all out war 4 Likes |

gidgiddy: We don't mind who collects the tariff at the ports, but SE urgently need to have functional seaports that will compliment/rival Lagos. That's the only way to reduce tension in Lagos before they start killing themselves out of envy and bitterness. Igbos are aggressive capitalists, while the ronu bigots are docile socialists. They will always lag behind and then start hating on the progressive ones. 6 Likes |

demmie1: I didn't measure it myself, but a careful look at the Google map shows that Obuaku in Abia state is closer to the Atlantic than Lagos or P.H ports. The mistake you guys keep making is believing that all ports are built on the coastal lines. That's wrong, almost all the ports in Nigeria are inland, including Lagos and P.H. 3 Likes 1 Share |

proeast: There are three other sea ports in Warri , PH and Calabar that you can easily use but you don't. You know why ? Because the market is first in Lagos and every other place is secondary . Who stopped you from importing through PH or via the bonded dry port terminal in Enugu ? You guys no get sense. Calabar, Warri and PH ports are open for business The only thing they can't handle is a RORO port which only Tin can has and is meant for car imports. The question to ask is : why are you not importing through PH or Calabar or Warri? A bonded terminal is located in every SE state that can generate revenue for your states through direct importation to these destinations but only a handful of your businessmen use them. Why ? Because as I stated earlier, Lagos is where the market is and every where else is secondary. As long as you keep importing through Lagos ports targeting Lagos markets you will continue to enrich Lagos state. Mumu 8 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Why SE Must Build A Seaport Now by FSBoperator: 11:50am On Jun 30, 2023 |
gidgiddy: That's because most shorelines do not offer enough depth as the continental shelf rises as you move towards the coast. Secondly ,most sea ports today were built and have been in existence since early maritime expeditions. A Harbour , as the name implies, offers sanctuary from the rough sea waves crashing directly on the shore line. It did not make sense to berth directly on the shore line with crashing waves and dangerously low water depth that required ships to be anchored some distance from the coast. A Harbour solves this challenge. Must we school you illiterates everything now? 7 Likes 2 Shares |

mrvitalis: You are really dangerously ignorant. Go and get a map of Nigeria and see that Calabar has a long sea coast bordering Cameron. Why are you guys so daft ? The port in Calabar is in the inland harbour a few kilometres from the ocean. It served Jewish slavers well as they could anchor close to land instead of using canoes to get inland if they dropped anchor on the high sea . 5 Likes 1 Share |
