Epe axis now has Lagos airport site. Don’t worry everything are well planned. Soon you will see much development in Lagos State airport in Epe axis.

Airport can't solve the problem of massive traffic jam... angry

Honestly, only a rail line will save that area from ending up worse than Apapa.

Currently, it's not funny at all. Once lived there.
There are two ports at Apapa, Tinn Can and Apapa Ports. Let say these two ports handles 80 ships that berth in Lagos per week.

Now with this new Port, 30 out of the 80 ships that come to Lagos go to Lekki Port, will it increase congestion at Apapa or Lekki?

Development is a matter of time, for now, appreciate this
Some development may be negative if care is not taken. Only an effective rail system will save that area from the coming chaos... embarassed

Lekki is already congested in terms of traffic jam on the Lekki-Epe expressway. Anything extra no matter how small will worsen it.

Apapa may improve. But more people may go into importation on the long run...

You are right, refinery wont be functional till 2025 or so. There might be a railway before then
not sure if the existing ones are built to support cargo trains

We expect the refinery to commence production in early August 2023. But it appears Dangote may have other ideas. embarassed

All the same, a cargo train will save Lekki from the impending chaos.

Lekki Port Receives First Transshipment Vessel

With the development of new deep seaports in the country, Nigeria is positioned to serve as the maritime logistics hub in the sub-region, taking back transit and transshipment cargoes for the neighboring landlocked countries.

On Thursday June 29, at about 1 p.m., @LekkiPort received cargoes from two of the largest container shipping lines in the world, CMA-CGM and Maersk.

The CMA-CGM vessel carried 411 TEUs of transshipment cargo destined for Cotonou and will depart on July 6, 2023.

The vessels were navigated to the port with the 80-ton bollard pull tug boats recently acquired by the @NigerianPorts for seamless port operations at the Lekki Port corridor.

This further reaffirms the Management’s commitment to expanding the frontiers of business and becoming the maritime logistics hub for sustainable port services in the subregion.

Funny enough we have a seaport, it was built by Daniel and commissioned by Amosun. But Amosun refused to hand it over to the consentioning company because he believes that it was padi padi arrangement that brought them onboard so the seaport is wasting away it was meant to be a fishing port.
