Africa has the resources. At least I doubt Germany practices slavery luke America where we cN say they has free labour to build their country. Africa is rich but we need to be united and have bold leaders willing to make rhein countries better. It is not a matter of slavery, and even the Americans gave up on slavery.(One reason why the Union beat the Confederates during the civil war...the Union had more industries, the Confederates were hoping to sell cotton to make up for industrial loss, until the Union blockaded them).

We have to develop a policy where we use our raw materials for industrial development. We cannot rely on selling cotton, cocoa, and so on to earn money....especially since the prices are not under our control.

(Germany had a harsh colonial system by the way, google Hererro massacare).

Our universities need to be audited. They can’t just be operating like they are on their own.

The entire academic staffs and the current students should be up to 1000 in total na?

Let everyone, including the HOD, levy themselves with a sum of #2500 each...the money go complete.

Continue deceiving yourself by comparing Germany Universities to Nigerias.

The total number of students in University of Ibadan alone is more than 7 universities students combined in Germany.
You forgot that we have polytechnics, monotechnics, college of education and various levels of higher institutions in Nigeria that are almost free. Both Yabatech and Poly Ibadan alone have combined students of 43000 if not more by now.
Department of Accountancy alone in Poly Ibadan has over 3000 students; that is almost the total number of the entire students in University of Edinburgh in the UK!

Germany is less than 85m citizens including immigrants.
Many times, we don't appreciate what we have until we loose it.

Maybe Tunde835 wants the lecturers in the department who are equipped with geological knowledge in economic geology and mineralogy should put on their thinking caps and practically apply the techniques they have been teaching in the lecture halls. By going out to search for gold or other valuable solid minerals,then sell it to raise the accreditation money with change even remaining..
Not just sitting in classrooms and be teaching theories to no end...

If what they're teaching is useful then they can contact their alumni network to donate money as many universities get funding but if they're wasting people's time then they get what they get. If graduates of geology are struggling to get by doing POS or jobs that don't relate Geology cause it's useless and can't afford to donate to their Alma matter then department deserves this.

Federal university (university of benin) looking 2.5m for departmental accreditation, wonderment. This federal schools are just criminals. Schools that generate billions can't afford 2.5m

I'm just saying they shouldn't use university as a way to waste our time due to the incessant strikes, classes, homework, exams including the stress cause some of us have better things to focus on like running a tech startup. Also some graduates have no idea or remember what they studied in school

Alumni of the University especially those that graduated from the University can raise that amount & more. It’s simple.
