to get a job you need to build your portfolio and you can only do that by doing projects..and about the essential skills, do yourself a favor by going through the chronicles of a data analyst/scientist created by Mr Ejiod..

One popular way is creating a github profile then upload your projects to your github then you can link your github profile to your linkedln, other ways is building your personal website, uploading your projects to medium, or kaggle...

And to find datasets for your projects kaggle,dataquest, google dataset search, etc

Work on open source projects

A lot of open source especially in the AI field need more data analysts

I've done all this. Yet keep getting rejections. The career is saturated and competitive

Keep on trying, apply for foreign jobs

Data engineering is even better. At least is very technical and as a result barrier to entry is higher compared to data analysis.

Just imagine someone telling you he's learning bedroom painting or shop painting? That's bedroom or shop painter. How does it sound?

Most of these "new" job titles doesn't seem to stand alone in the job market in my own opinion. Don't you know bankers do data analysis tasks?

Even the employed data analysis in LinkedIn has multiple experiences and skills as addition

Data analysis role like like contract one to me sef. Full time are for medium to big companies

The point here is barrier to entry for data analysis is low hence high competition.

The thing is that Google, Microsoft and OpenAI will build a toolkit to speed up the process in analyzing massive data but only rich and experienced data analyst will be able to subscribe to use the tool making competition stronger and lesser work

If you are learning it online its not worth it. Most Data science jobs are research based and require a phd in computer science, maths or statistics.

It's a weird request not about travelling though because I can't afford that now.They say a close mouth is a close destiny,I run a small dstv and Gotv shop and business is very slow these days cos of tinubu bad policies.I need a little loan about 300k to get a small sukhig solar generator to add phone charging business,to pay back in 3months time I am from Anambra and based there too in Ekwulobia.I will be glad if you can assist me,but if not,I understand,you don't know me or owe me anything.I am happy for your success and growth,wish you more success over there.
