Workch: I will take the words of the experts who took their time to study this over your opinion. Both Demographia and McKenzie have done independent research and come to the same conclusions about Onitsha. Demographia will release their annual report this month. 7 Likes |

mrvitalis:Building cannot count as GDP because GDP is grass domestic product frm a region. It's a total calculation of the goods and services produced in a state or country minus importation value into state. Building cannot possibly be included in it |

horsepower102:onitsha is a small place by landmass, it cannot possibly be the 2nd most built up city in Nigeria. I don't think it's even in top 10. Even chatGPT don't think so 1 Like 1 Share

kettykings: Anytime you're traveling from Onitsha, you will observe that the stretch from Onitsha/Owerri road remains busy with towns almost joining each other all the way to Owerri. Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Uli, Mgbidi, Awo omama etc. Then Owerri. In years to come, they will all combine to form a cornubation just like Tokyo. 7 Likes |

Workch: ChatGPT shouldn't be relied upon on such issue. Demographia and other research bodies are more reliable. ChatGPT only picks random information online to form its opinion. You should also understand that Metropolitan area is not same as city. Onitsha metropolitan area includes Obosi, Oba and others. By 2040 more than half of Anambra will be part of greater Onitsha. P.H growth is largely limited because of the torpographic nature of the state. Only Obigbo, parts of Etche, Ikwerre, Ogoni and other adjoining will become part of P.H. 8 Likes |

basilo101:Onitsha, Nkpo, Ogidi and Obosi are not as built up as port harcourt metro. Even if you add Oba and Nnewi to it, Port metro comprising onne, Elele, oyigbo and obio akpo is still more built up than all of them. Obio akpo alone is larger than Onitsha main city |
Re: Biggest Economies In Nigeria, GDP Of States by basilo101: 7:20pm On Jul 06, 2023 |
Workch:Go and research the difference between city and urban metropolitan area. That's where your confusion is coming from. In terms of city, Aba is the largest city in the East followed by Enugu. But urban metroplis is a different thing and Onitsha is the largest in Nigeria by landmass and second largest by population 7 Likes |

This is the real picture even as usual, you people love to confuse yourselves with data that you can not properly read and comprehend. In the grand scheme of things, Imo is still at the bottom. IGR growth is poor and deplorable. IGR per Capita is lousy Capital important is abysmal Revenue growth is nothing to smile about. Imo has a long way to go and sit at home won't let the state progress economically..

basilo101:Onitsha is small. Even if you combine Onitsha, Obosi, nkpor, Ogidi, places like port harcourt, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna and Ibadan are sill larger and more built than it. |
Re: Biggest Economies In Nigeria, GDP Of States by proeast(m): 7:22pm On Jul 06, 2023 |
Workch: Forget about being Igbo, we are talking facts here. Demographia and other international organizations that gave that data don't have any reason to be biased. You don't know more than them! Lagos is most built up because there are buildings back-to-back for hundreds of miles. Same is applicable to Onitsha. They don't consider Ibadan as built-up because the buildings are more or less shanties, which are categorized as slums by those international bodies. 9 Likes |

proeast:Onitsha is not more built than Abuja. You and I know this. Or even port harcourt. You should be laughing at those data 😂 |
Re: Biggest Economies In Nigeria, GDP Of States by basilo101: 7:25pm On Jul 06, 2023 |
Workch:Do you known more than two reputable international organisations already quoted? Even the Google you are talking about show how build up areas spread large around Onitsha. If you use Google Earth it may appear green because it's semi urban with tall trees but buildings scatter underneath in close proximity to each other 3 Likes
