The bad road in the state is nothing to write home about. Not to talk of other bad road that load to my house. washing your car this rain season is a waste of time and effort.

The worst part is my bumper and exhaust.

Was considering lifting the car up it it will affect the balance.
All I did was buy a light truck (abi na light rock) tyre.

Lifting your car will not only reduce its aesthetics but it will also reduce its balance on high speed.

As someone said earlier, always make sure you slow down very very well when you're on a bad road.

Also, consider taking alternative routes even if they're longer. A little extra cost of fuel is better than visiting mechanic workshop every weekend.

Those speed bumps are learning compared to the speed bumps on the Obajana kogi state axis.
fineboynl:
south east has the worst speed bumps especially Enugu. Speed bumps without a sign post. Speed bumps on express road. Spend bumps on hill so many I can't mention.

My fear for these small vehicles is low space between bumper and the ground. My dream cars has always been SUVs and Big Jeeps like Tundra
Most SUV (even the new ones) drink fuel like water.

Sedan doesn't need much fuel. New sedan are almost as economical as most of the bikes (with older tech) we have here.

You need it because manufacturers of these vehicles didn't put the deplorable state of our roads into consideration... If you stay in the city with good roads, what about traveling to your village??

Besides, it's safer to drive an SUV that has huge ground clearance. If you can't afford it ,you can lift your sedan,at least it will reduce the number of times you will visit a panel beater.
what do you mean if he can't afford it? Sedans and suvs are almost same price range these days

Lifting of vehicles has nothing to do with roads. America has the most listen truck in anywhere in the world, even manufacturers now lifts brand new trucks. Listening is just luxurious cosmetics. Lifting 2 wheel drive is liking trowing your money away.

Lifting a car reduces the stability especially on high speed
Example, don't ever lift a Lexus IS250. EVER!!

Please don’t, I did it to my es330 and the steering pump show me shege, it affected the steering pump and I changed pump more than 5 times. Because of the added higher it kept stretching the pump pipe and damaging it.
My advice is to maneuver slowly and professionally when driving
What about putting bigger size tyres
Re: Is Lifting A Car Up Good Because Of Bad Road by OmoFiditi: 5:22pm On Jul 07, 2023
After my Honda accord showed me shege and panel beaters open office for my head, I swore never to buy or drive any saloon car on Nigerian road. I bought an SUV, lifted it slightly and have been driving and enjoying it for 2 years. My panel beater was one weed-smoking idiot. He go work your car, the next week you carry car come for the same problem.

After I bought the new SUV, he kept asking about the Honda, I told him I sold it out of state. I saw his face downcast, he tried to hide it but I saw it. I just greet him nowadays when he see me pass his workshop, but I have told him without mincing words, he will never smell that my SUV in his workshop. 3 years going, no panel work on that SUV.

Every car made for terrible Nigerian roads should be lifted slightly.

Re: Is Lifting A Car Up Good Because Of Bad Road by chibatov(m): 5:51pm On Jul 07, 2023
Yes it's worth it. But make sure you change shocks as soon as they go bad. It'll make ur shocks squeak everytime u climb bumps or when the road is quite rough. And don't let mechanics cut open your shocks when they do.
Re: Is Lifting A Car Up Good Because Of Bad Road by wunmi590(m): 5:57pm On Jul 07, 2023
huh

I hate cars lifted up with passion...

Oyinbo that did cars, did it in varieties.

If you know the road leading to your house is not good and and it will affect your bumper, save up and get and SUV..

lifting cars 🚗 up makes them look ugly, I don't like it..

I raised my Honda Dc, and change tires from 205/60/16 to 215/65/16, omoh, the ride come be like Lamborghini.

It's just by adding 2-3inches metal in between the shock heads.
