SUFFERInSMILIIN:Yeah, APC is a bad government, and I agree. Never voted for or supported Tinubu in my life. But if you are complaining about subsidy, the problem with subsidy was that if we kept it, we would have had to take out an increasing amount of money from the budget, which has to be replaced by loans, and more loans Already we are spending 75% of our budget on loan servicing. Add more , and at the end...in a few years we would be spending all our earnings, plus loans, on subsidy....and we would be so broke that even the looters on top won't have anything to loot....and if you think we are suffering now, imagine what it would be like when we have no money, and IMF and Beijing are refusing to give us loans. If all the candidates were saying subsidy should go, then that's telling you something. I mean, in 2019, Atiku and Obi were pro subsidy, In 2023, they both were anti-subsidy. Something changed. They both woke up. And Tinubu too...pro-subsidy 2012, then anti-subsidy in 2023. Maybe you should have come out and campaigned for Sowore. He was the only one speaking for subsidy. |

Suffering and smiling has always been every Nigeria moto. That is why the government is trying to promote Illiteracy and poverty. They know as an illitrate you are, you will not know your rights. Them keeping you in poverty is because they know that, when you are poor and hungry, if they flash a cup of rice right in your face, you will kill to have that cup of rice. I do not blame the politicians, I even hail them when they embezzle billions for themselves, yes it's very good. Na citizens were no know their left and right you wn help? |

nairalanda1:Let me inform you something it is better to use the money to subsidize petrol and diesel done for the subsidy money to be used to build houses abroad which is happening right now. Just look how the Naira is collapsing and how other African countries currencies are threatening because Nigerian Dollars are all flowing out of the country even to other African countries. Just subsidy remover is just to fool the Nigerian masses which are illiterate because that money will be spent abroad or opening bank accounts in other countries wait and see. |
| Re: Extremely Happy That Nigerians Are Suffering by SUFFERInSMILIIN(op): 9:54am On Jul 08, 2023 |
marlow1962:I have said this from day one Nigeria's problem is not of leadership but Nigerians are illiterate. When you go to Europe and America you will know what I am saying you fight Nigerian professors and doctors abroad which professional illiterate. The only think Nigerian people know how to do vote for themselves all over the world and start suffering |

| Re: Extremely Happy That Nigerians Are Suffering by nairalanda1(m): 9:56am On Jul 08, 2023 |
SUFFERInSMILIIN:The problem with subsides is that 1.They keep growing, even without any smuggling or corruption, because of the rising cost of production which pushes subsidy costs up. 2.They hinder development in the sector. Using GSM as an example...MTN , Airtel and glo and 9 mobile are investing in Nigeria because government is not setting their price or telling them to sell airtime to Nigerians at N1 for 30 minutes. They make enough profit to attract investment, and pay for improvements. The petroleum sector, on the other hand, has been forced to operate at a loss for 50 years. And the suubsidy money cannot cover the cost well, because costs of petrol production keep rising...whether we refine at home or abroad (and things like inflation). And the more we spend on subsidy, the less we have to spend on other things...(drives up inflation) which means we have to take loans to meet up (makes things worse.). And it promoted corruption...because subsidy provides room for lying about consumption, and a host of things...to earn more money. If there was no subsidy, all that won't exist. And here we are. 75% OF our income goes for loan servicing, and the DMO is yelling at government not to borrow another kobo. Yet to keep subsidy we have to borrow. Something had to give. If Obi, Atiku and all the candidates were saying the same thing about subsidy, that means something was up. |

nairalanda1:Please there is nothing to talk about about Nigerian gsm compared to other African countries look at the internet speed look at the Investments there is really nothing to talk about. Just look what is happening right now Nigerians are running to put their US Dollar in African countries. Would it be better if the subsidy money is spent on petroleum and diesel than to be spent on building houses abroad. You have to understand Nigeria is 17 country in Africa to invest in the problem is not subsidy the problem is lack of investment and the Nigerian behaviour that they only want to vote for a criminal and support a criminal all over the world these are the problems of Nigerian nothing to do with subsidy. It is not 75% for recurring expenditure it is actually 92%. Most of those candidates are illiterate and criminals they understand nothing about developing a nation. Look right now the economy has ground to a standstill. The little US Dollar in the country is now flowing to other African countries Banks. When you have a nation of illiteracy it does not work out. Who will even invest in Nigeria, when the Citizens are running out of the country like termites. GSM network there is nothing to write about in the nation hardly any serious investment in the sector just look at things like internet speed price on unlimited internet then you will see where we are maybe last in Africa.. Take a trip to some African countries data bundle does not have any expiry. Which means if you buy 10 gig data even in five years he doesn't get expired. For GSM sector in some African countries they are not providing unlimited download when you take airtel MTN there is really no unlimited download even when the right unlimited when you reach a certain brand with the speed is reduced by 10 *.the GSM sector is totally eroded only thing there is it massive debt of the. |
| Re: Extremely Happy That Nigerians Are Suffering by nairalanda1(m): 4:34pm On Jul 08, 2023 |
SUFFERInSMILIIN:Like I said , subsidies have a tendency to grow. In 2010, we spent 25% of our income on subsides. By 2011, it had jumped to 60%. If not that GEJ did partial removal, by 2014, we would have been spending all our revenue on subsidy. When Buhari came, he cut subsides...and made NNPC sole importer, and settled outstanding subsidy claims...by 2019, subsidy costs were topping 70% of our oil income. At some point, you have to stop spending too much money. Plus, unless you want to pass a law preventing Nigerians investing abroad (tried in other countries, failed misreably), ye cannot do anything about that. Most of those candidates are illiterate and criminals they understand nothing about developing a nation.Well, the problem with subsidy is that it chases away investment. Selling fuel at government set prices is a nice way of telling any potential investor that 'you will lose money on your investment'. So, they stay away. Telecoms is not subsidised (and Nigerians were calling for subsides back in the day...I remember). As a result they make enough profit and attract investment. Niger and Chad do not subsidise fuel...as a reuslt they attracted investment to build a refinery each...because investors would be sure they would see their return on investment. As for voting criminals....anytime people like me tell you to vote out PDP, APC, LP, and NNPP....you guys will start crying about 'But we would have no one to vote' . In a sane society, Atiku, Tinubu and even Obi should not be contesting for power. Buhari, Obasanjo inparticular should not have even come back. But most of you vote for them...and don't give new parties and new candidates a chance. And then you complain about bad leadership. It does not work that way. Look right now the economy has ground to a standstill. The little US Dollar in the country is now flowing to other African countries Banks. We have never earned enough dollars, and we never will, until we start diversifying our economy, simple. When you have a nation of illiteracy it does not work out. Who will even invest in Nigeria, when the Citizens are running out of the country like termites. GSM network there is nothing to write about in the nation hardly any serious investment in the sector just look at things like internet speed price on unlimited internet then you will see where we are maybe last in Africa..Well, we have a good enough internet and GSM compared to 20 years ago, when 1) you could not call a Airtel line with MTN 2) Home internet was non existent. You had to go to a cafe and browse with really slow speed Take a trip to some African countries data bundle does not have any expiry. Which means if you buy 10 gig data even in five years he doesn't get expired.Erm, Ive bought 20 gig in a developed country, and it expired...lol Plus data depends on how much you use it. (My elderly mum can get by on 2gig for a month, but she doesn't use the internet that much tho.). For GSM sector in some African countries they are not providing unlimited download when you take airtel MTN there is really no unlimited download even when the right unlimited when you reach a certain brand with the speed is reduced by 10 *.the GSM sector is totally eroded only thing there is it massive debt of the.Well, we have ISP's like Spectranet, MTEL, Smile etc that may offer packages for high speed internet. (Spectranet is good). We also have Elon's Starlink, if you have de cash.(I don't, lol). |

nairalanda1:Please how many African countries have you been to I am telling you there is nothing to write home about Nigeria's GSM sector. The GSM sector in Nigeria is 10 years behind some African countries. I have been to 16 African countries. Listen take a trip 2 Ghana Kenya South Africa and Tanzania you will see that there is nothing to write home about the gsm sector in Nigeria. You said you went to a developed country and bought 20 gb data how is this possible because 20 gig data cannot do anything. I use more than 20 gig per day in my job. Let me return back to the GSM issue in Nigeria the GSM operators are all third world countries. When you go to some African countries they have developed countries GSM operators like Vodafone and virgin MTN is a toy compared to this company. Virgin is now giving fibre optic cable for as low as 1 US Dollar for 1 mbps unlimited. Which is equal to about 800 naira download as much as you want. As I told you let's compare MTN in some African countries if you buy more than 15 gig data they give you unlimited download from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. which does not use up your data. I am telling you there is nothing to write home about the GSM all don't spectrum.net and star.com our rubbish maybe in a month is promising but the problem is the service is not hundred percent bible or working there are black and sometimes you can have up to three to five minutes disconnection every 1 hour using starlink. This service is not hundred percent really role out in Lagos. I have used it and noticed the surface is not really smooth sometimes you cannot connect or they are breakages is the connection mostly every one to two hours. I say some of the countries when you buy data it does not get expired and I can stick to my word in Africa.. the speed of the internet is so slow like a donkey in Nigeria. Please take a trip to some African countries South Africa Botswana Namibia Kenya Tanzania Ghana and Ethiopia go and see the services which they are providing In their mobile sector you will know that in Nigeria we are Jokers. African countries which bank have US dollar ATM machine this is as far back six years ago. Some African country have international dollar account which means that you can walk into any branch in any African country and take out US dollar. Barclays Bank, social general and ecobank, you can walk into any branch in any African country and take out dollars which year international dollar account. I have taken out money in Togo ,Benin Republic, Kenya and Tanzania and I did not even have a account in this country. The majority problem which Nigerian is all mouth and no brain when the country is last in the world the People Keep on supporting idiot home and Abroad. Make a trip to Europe and America the only thing you can see Nigerians doing following an idiom which could not even give them electricity in Nigeria and praising him. We Nigerians like to make a lot of noise all over the world when we are last in everything. Anything we like to make noise but the truth of the matter is we are professional illiterate which believe we are educated all over the world. All we can do stop making noise about a Nigerian who live in a country and brought that shows you the height of illiteracy we cannot even realise that that is another country which the Nigerian is school in. Comment to the matter of fuel subsidy removal I do not agree with it at all because it will be the same thing as previous thing which this government has removed something from Example fertilizer look at the collapsed in the agricultural sector. Lack of investment does not mean subsidy removal. To take the leaders want to remove the latest are playing the music of the IMF and World Bank. A look at China how their economy is heavily subsidized including Japan Russia even Brazil when I am in. Let's be educated people here not bunch of illiterates which listen to politicians. Who is the poverty rate in Nigeria Nigeria cannot afford the same petrol price and fuel price at people in the developing world when their salary is only 5 to 10% of developed world citizens . This is how the IMF and World Bank sink 3rd world countries economy. Money which is spent in the nation is better than the money which is used to build other people's Nations. Instead of trying to attract investment into the country anyway it is difficult with the Citizens behaviour. In United States of America Nigerians and 92 immigrants in employment in Canada 85 immigrant in employment in Britain 128 immigrant in employment there is a reason that the people are to blame not the government
