In summary An independent south east will be an above average African country at worst. At best, it can be an exemplary African country. Being boxed in by Nigeria will only be an issue during war time as Nigeria can effectively blockade the country, using a superior navy. However in peace time, commercial activities can go on in the country with minimal reliance on Nigeria. For instance, containers destined for the country could berth in Lagos as usual and then loaded into barges which will be sailed up Imo river to the port of the country. Ethiopian airline already lands directly in Enugu (which would probably be the capital). Air peace could also become a flag carrier for the country. Since the country would most likely be in ECOWAS, the protocol will protect trade between it and Nigeria. The large gas reserves in the Anambra basin plus elsewhere in the South East would help generate enough independent electricity to give the country 24/7 electricity like Ghana. 13 Likes 2 Shares

Nigeria would lose sleep if Biafra were to become a country. Most of its innovation would be geared towards defence and this would mean Nigeria would alws be on its toe afraid of war at any moment. The squabbles and conflicts btwn Biafra and the Nigerian state aint abbeting any time soon. Whether inside or independent of Nigeria, Biafra will alws be at conflict with Nigeria 28 Likes 4 Shares |

gidgiddy:underestimating your opponent lost ojukwu the war and saw Nnamdi kanu captured. I'd rather overestimate Nigeria than underestimating it. But even better is realising that Nigeria is the most powerful country in west Africa, A major power broker in Africa, a rising Middle power in global affairs. Getting independence from such a power requires tact, diplomacy and doing the right things 14 Likes 1 Share |

This is not accurate especially the GDP If Biafra becomes independent Over 50,000 business, factories would be moved to Biafra land, population would increase by minimum of 40% from present value GDP would increase by 50% minimum The truth is No South South person would have a single problem with igbos shipping through their waters to igbobland... We would use south South ports till we build ours in maximum of 10 years The ceiling of Biafra economy is over 2 trillion dollars... But I project it to over 1 trillion in 20 years after independence Textile industry ICT weapon manufacturing Fabrication would grew the biafran economy considerably 35 Likes 8 Shares |

Razgas:Because of government policy a huge percentage of Igbo wealth is outside igbobland From a conversative figure of 26% to as high as 90% of Igbo wealth are outside igbobland With Biafra a lot would be brought back home Manufacturing sector mostly Real estate would be gradual process because even Nigeria won't dare take Igbo properties in Nigeria because it would cripple the Nigerian economy 8 Likes 3 Shares |
