Maan..I don't joke with those 2, expecially score. Be it Hans Zimmer's God Particle Playing as Robert Langdon and Vittoria Vetra search the Vatican's catacomb for the "Anti-Matter" in "Angels and Demons" (2009) or As Steve Jablonsky's Arrival to Earth resonates as the Autobots descends on earth" in "Transformers" (2007) or James Horner's "Southampton" is playing as the Titanic sails away on a doomed maiden voyage on the North Atlantic in "Titanic (1997) or as Hans Zimmer's "Cornfield" is playing as Cooper and his kids chase the drone across a vast cornfield in "Interstellar" (2014) or Justin Hurwitz's "The Landing" eggs on Niel Armstrong played by Ryan Gosling as he lands on the moon becoming the first man to do so in Damien Chazelle's "First Man" (2018) or and this is a personal fave, Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard "s "Now we are free", echoes as Maximus ask for the freedom of his men as he lay dead dreaming of a peaceful life beyond the Gladiator arena in "Gladiator (2000)

i have a large section of my library dedicated to film music collected over the years. I have a very good docu on it. Nothing i enjoy more than a movie with a profound OST or Score 🎶🙂
They don't call Hans Zimmer the GOAT for nothing.
I don't know any man of culture that doesn't get goosebumps when Maximus is saying his final words with Now We Are Free playing in the background.

Drink Up Me Hearties made me want to jump on a ship and brave the wild seas.
Fun fact: There are pieces of Drink Up Me Hearties in other movies Zimmer scored, namely Gladiator and The Lion King.

Howard Shore and Isabel Bayrakadian set a blissful romantic mood for Aragorn and Arwen with Evenstar.

Michael Giacchino took No Way Home's climax up many notches with Arachnoverture.

Ramin Djawadi's Across the Ocean of Time was one of the best things in Eternals, as flawed as the movie was.

Yuki Kajiura's Sis Puella Magica! was one of the many amazing tracks she cooked on Madoka Magica that had me in goosebumps.

Hiroki Sawano and Laco accompanying on of the best battle charges in fiction with Before Lights Out and this isn't even close to his best work on Attack on Titan's OST.

I could go on and on.

mannn film music is bliss, drives the narrative with a perfectly weighted emotion that you will always remember the particular scene by.
You spit facts here. There's very few things that cement a scene and even going so far to make it iconic as the music.

This is literally Oppenheimer’s marketing strategy: Christopher Nolan says this, Christopher Nolan says that. Na the director name and words dem dey use sell the film. If you are big, you are big.

That's the point... grin grin

This is how I felt with the score of HBO's Love and Death. Especially Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by Nina Simone. 😎😎

The Man with the Iron Heart - 2017.

The assassination of “Reinhard Heydrich” came at a very high cost to the Czech Resistance Forces.

This movie tells a more better story from both warring sides (Heydrich’s and the Czech Resistance’s) than it was told in “Anthropoid - 2016”.

Mehnnnn! I doubt the genocide committed by the German Army across Europe during the WW2 can be rivaled by any other in the history of mankind.

The way I am thirsty for all these Nazi Movies ehn; my spirit is telling me, I was a high ranking official of the Reichsführer-SS, perhaps Himmler. grin

I rate this beautiful movie 8.5/10.

A fellow man of Culture i See. There's a reason why the oscars award the best film music and score each year. It's such an integral part of film making, that even if a movie is bad, a good score could actually increase it's replay value. Seeing the title of a particular score alone and immediately start playing the particular scene in my head....If i see "Dream is Collapsing", my mind immediately goes to that one scene in "Inception" (2010).

Mann. The Joy of film music is unmatched for a true cinephile

Lmaoo..Old Nollywood was actually insane, They were probably working out of a meagre budget of 2k and trying to shoot a movie inside 3 days!. They always just contract the music to one man called Stanley Okorie, and the man had the easiest job ever, he will just take the plot of the movie and throw in a few gibberish and call it a day...You will hear "Nne me, In this life, you reap what you sow" fgss 😩😩, and they have one score template, if you are familiar with old Nollywood ain't no way you won't know the score when someone is about to poison food, once you hear it, someone is about to die by poison.

But new Nollywood are trying a bit with the Netflix and Amazon prime money coming in now, I have a UNI friend who works as a sound engineer out of an indie studio in Lagos, they were the one that actually worked on the "Gang of Lagos" score, but as you can guess, the budget for it was little as they rather spend on custumes and props, and so jobs to score a movie here rarely comes, if he had taken it as a full time job, he would probably be living under the Bridge by now lol.

Nollywood just bank on cinemas and streaming numbers for revenue, forgetting that there are other ways of making money off a movie, like making a proper OST, releasing it digitally and commercially mining it

True, Nollywood ain't serious yet about the musical score side of the business. They're mainly focusing on the visuals, costumes, makeup and Cinematography.
Nigeria has a culture of one person doing a whole damn job that in outside cultures is broken down and specialised. Na only Naija you go see person edit, score and animate graphics all at once just to hope of seeing some reasonable cash.

Just rewatched Dune 2 trailer and mehn Dennis Villeneuve is cooking.... GOATED score and action. See visuals all at minimal cost.
I still wonder how the man achieved all that CGI feast with just $165mn in the last film and heard he's achieving same for this sequel with a $40mn lesser budget.

WB seem to have a sure winner here.

lol..Yeah.. Nollywood keeps treating movies like a hobby rather than an actual business. One person we want to direct, edit, screenplay and only calls other crew like the musical people deep into post production to perform magic. That's why most of the movies aren't sellable outside of cinemas, they can't properly merchandise them with such shaky movie making process.
