The East doesn’t have the numbers for diplomacy. Most of all, their culture is not that grounded. It is rooted in greed. Unfortunately they can not deploy such needed sophistication for diplomacy.

Let’s not go there you can’t give what you don’t have

And how has the reduction in the number of likes and shares on his page affected the spate of wanton destruction and blood-letting in your region?

What manner of hopeless 🤡🤡🤡 are you people? Are you sure this isn't a curse that has to be remedied by some metaphysical means?😕

I was part of the June-12 1993 riots to actualize the mandate of the late chief MKO Abiola in Lagos here.
Reno Omokri have gone lying just to self aggrandize himself given that his popularity has waned.

You HOW you folks are soooo RETARDED??

Is Reno talking about the destruction or the Protest HERE

Reno is here talking about the diplomatic tactic that was used after the Protest....mind you, Abiola's case of annulment of a democratic electoral victory is very DIFFERENT from Kanu's terroristic and treasonous attempts .

Reno is just wasting his time, these Beggie Beggie ppl can NEVER listen UNTIL its too late.

You lack common sense. Are demonstrations which you are falsely calling “riots” the same thing as enforced sit at home (ie mass imprisonment of millions) and killing your fellow Igbos?

Stupid idiot narcissists. You are never wrong in your eyes. Even when you get reasonable advice, your thick skulls cannot process that since you are ‘perfect’ in your eyes and your fragile ego can’t accept such counselling.

Hopeless things.

Exactly!!!

They are FORCING their fellow ppl to sit at home or be killed over a known Terrorist.

And these imbeciles are comparing that to an unforced democratic protest of an annulled electoral victory.

Lies.

June 12 protests were for what
Niger Delta militancy forced Yaradua into amnesty not any diplomacy
Abacha? This dude is high on drugs. I remember OBJ's famous quote then: "How can anyone be so bold to beg for a thief?" It was a pure case of criminality

Reno Omokri on Twitter: "When Abiola was in jail, the Yorubas did ...

When Abiola was in jail, the Yorubas did not destroy their region to force Abacha to release MKO Abiola. Rather, they used diplomacy to turn Abacha into an international pariah until Abacha was forced to offer Abiola bail (which Abiola ultimately refused). Mohammed Abacha was in prison for three years. How was he released? Kano elders sought an audience with Obasanjo in 2002 and publicly prostrated to him. The next month, the court freed Mohammed. Asari Dokubo was in prison for treason for two years until Niger Delta elders used diplomacy to get President Yar'adua to release him in 2007. What militancy could not do, diplomacy did! I cannot imagine any truly intelligent person saying until you release our son, we will keep destroying our region. Who loses? Fight intelligently, not forcefully. You are cutting your nose and thinking you are spiting those in power? And nobody can even counsel you guys. It is either you know better than those who want to counsel you and start to lecture them, or you insult them. The Yorubas used diplomacy as leverage. Kano people used it. Niger Delta used it. You, too, use it. It will serve you better than this path of self-destruction.

No government can give in to force. The minute they do, they are finished, because others will smell weakness and engage in their own violence.

Oya, insult!

What do you think?
So who carried out the June 12 riots popularly known as Oso Abiola 🙄🙄🙄

The unknown gunmen messing up the East are criminals working for the Evil forces holding Nigeria down.
How come the FG is yet to convict Mazi Kanu of any crime?

Reno and his idiotic comparison
Igbos Never support Ekpa and his criminals.
The government can't protect our people who disobeyed sit at home.
There were shooting against people who came out to do their business.
Is it that Reno don't read or he just chose to be mischievous.

Lol Abiola died in prison, good diplomacy?

Asari Dokubo was never a freedom fighter he could be easily bribed into silence.

I have never supported IPOB or Sit at home but Reno's arguments are just too shallow every movement that promises change whether personal or societal will always involve some level of suicide or self destruction

Abiola died in prison but how many Presidents and VP's has the region had since then? What has happened to the northern - igbo relationship that ruled Nigeria in every civilian dispensation until 1999?

His arguments are not shallow. You cannot simply label someone's argument without providing a plausible alternative.

Reno is pointing to the fact that unlike all other tribes, the igbo believe that they can get what they want through maintaining an aggressive behaviour. This idea of exceptionalism or "special race" theory culminated in MNK 2015 " guns and bullets" rant at the world Igbo Congress in 2015 and morphed into the UGM, stay at home and regional terrorism. The original aim of the Kanu sponsored UGM was to assert Biafra control over territory and draw the NA into guerilla warfare thereby attracting the attention of the international community especially the UN

Unfortunately they were dealing with a buhari who despite all his faults was quick to read the situation. He exited the NA and left the UGM to first celebrate victory and then begin to feed on itself.

By the time the dust settles nzogbu nzogbu politics will be dead forever in the Nigeria space. Already voices are beginning to point ipob towards the steps needed for a peaceful referendum and possible exit from the FRN. Apart from igbo politicians and businessmen, I do not see anyone resisting such a move.

Ipob and its constituent Autopilot and DoS have overplayed their hand.

Court has freed Nnamdi Kanu but Buhari refused to release him. If Tinubu is wise, he should release Nnamdi Kanu and see how peace quickly return to the region

Your contradicting yourself, it was the violence of Asari Dokubo that got him the privilege he has now not his brilliant diplomacy and it was the violence of Yorubas after Abiola death that got them the positions as appeasement, diplomacy alone never works.

Northerners remain by far the most violent group in Nigeria with the highest amount of suicide bombers and that is precisely why they will always rule Nigeria.

Violence of the yorubas in 1993? How old were you. Who feeds you all this information?

After Abacha released his killer squad led by Sergeant Rodgers, the NADECO which by the way was not composed of only Yorubas. Lobbied foreign governments to declare Nigeria a pariah state, started radio Kudirat, and created massive strikes which included powerful unions like Pengassan. Meanwhile, people like Bola Tinubu who were forced into exile continued a steady war of attrition against the government abroad 9In fact the road outside the Nigerian Embassy in New York was renamed after Kudirat. There was no violence on the streets outside of Abacha assassination squads. Peter Obi and his ilk cooperated with Abacha and were given plum jobs like chairmanship of the committee overseeing Tin Can Island ports.

Yourubas as Reno rightly points out did not burn Lagos down to force the FG to negotiate. The strikes did not need to be enforced by gunmen because no one was breaking the strike. There was 100% compliance.

I said "diplomacy alone doesn't work" not that diplomacy is useless.

Yorubas made use of both violence and diplomacy, diplomacy alone did absolutely nothing to stop Abacha, Abacha was poisoned not overthrown, there was no coup, no great mass uprising, he would probably be ruling Nigeria to this very day if he wasn't killed, in the end when all is said and done - it was death that overthrew Abacha not any of your pretty diplomacy, in the end Yorubas used violence to rule Nigeria, the diplomacy just whitewashed the whole affair.

And i'm glad you didn't try to turn Asari Dokubo to some intelligent diplomat.
