Instead Aboki will be making progress, Aboki is regressing.

I’m sure they must have a lot of illiterates in their midst which is why they deemed it necessary to lower the standards to accommodate them.

They might as well incorporate their different dialects as well.

Shut and respect them! They have all legal rights to do so!

Totally in support of this..it should even be made the first official language in the state. Other tribes and states should emulate it so that those prodigal sons and daughters who don't speak indigenous language won't have any business in government.

Lol.. You're lost and irredeemable. Chai.

Wot a pity - Most foreign countries see us as English speaking ppl, reason y they exempted Naija from all this their proof of English test via Academics - But with this set back from Bauchi Assembly, it's only a matter of little time all Schools in
Bauchi State would use Hausa as teaching language.

Mention one country that exempt Nigeria from proof of English test

hypocrites full here,if it was another tribe now like Igbo , comments you'll be seeing will be very different. you'll be seeing comments praising them for adopting their mother tongue but as na Hausa man now , you tag them illiterate.

The fear of Biafra restoration and Biafrans liberation is catching the enemies wotowoto.

Only the release of Biafra currency will end Nigeria in Biafra (south south+southeast) territory overnight.

Way to go. Lets develop our local languages and we need to pass a language act. I want our math's and sciences to be thought and understood in local dialects.

Are you a student in Bauchi? Regardless of how much English you think you speak, most countries don't want someone with your low level thinking to come and ruin their society.

well play, as a Yoruba person I have no problem with this, other states can do whatever they like. the entire Yorubaland should adopt Yoruba as the official language. in Nigeria, we are not one and we will never be 1, Nigeria is just a name of a union.

The same people that try to go against federally instituted laws like rule of law, secularism etc are the same people that don't want the country to either separate or regionalized. This people are a bunch of trouble, but one day they'll see that trouble they're looking for beyond expectations
Re: Bauchi Assembly Adopts Hausa As Language Of Communication by aklid(m): 9:37pm On Jul 11, 2023
This really really really commendable, English’s always been trying to remind us of the colonial days…
Presently all almost all science courses are translated in Hausa already… . Just wait and see how the north will change over Time..and I bet you, it’ll prove to be fruitful

I mean other developed countries that use their own languages are still moving forward, it’s only a fool that thinks this is not a good thing to do… las las we ain’t gon be feeding on “English” language…so let everyone speak the one that’s best understood in their assemblies…

One of the best news so far.

Why would brothers and sisters be communicating with one another in a foreign language? Imagine going to Germany and hearing them doing their plenary sessions in Yoruba. Yeah! That's how absurd we look.

Some morons even have the effrontery to be unanointed grammar police that shame others for improper grasp of English language. Many English people in their native countries can barely read or write in English.

Such can never happen in a state like akwaibom, edo or Rivers, that have many tribes speaking different languages..

Thats why u Can' never see people of those states agitating for separation of the country, cos they re confused as to how to split those many tribes. E go hard gan

So, using local language is regressing in your linguistically colonized brain, right?

That's why in 2006, UNESCO cited Igbo as one of the languages that will go extinct within the next 50 years.

Also, a Professor of African and African Diaspora Literatures at the University of Massachusetts, Chukwuma Azuonye said in his paper Igbo as an Endangered Language, published in 2002: "...it is in fact one of the seriously endangered languages of the world. Its endangerment is largely a function of colonial mentality manifested in the so-called receptivity to change that often means loss of identity in every new situation of culture contact."

Next time when you think that people are regressive because of using their native languages, think of NDIGBO first.
