Johannesburg residents were not the only species to feel and enjoy the snow that covered parts of the city on Monday, 10 July.

The Johannesburg Zoo, which houses over 320 species of animals and is internationally recognised, shared pictures of the site which was something to entice the eye of snow enthusiasts.

The Zoo later shared photos of animals, including the tiger, cheetah and giraffe scrolling around their enclosures while the snow covered their furry bodies.

“Some of our residents were curious and decided to brave the cold and have a stroll in their ‘white blanket’ enclosures,” the Zoo wrote.

“Our animals have night rooms and shelters to protect them from any weather conditions,” the Johannesburg Zoo put out the clarion.

“I’m sure the polar bear would’ve loved it,” reacted Zakhele Mondli, an animal lover.

More pictures of the snow in the zoo yesterday.

Residents of Johannesburg also enjoyed the snow. On Monday they woke up to the first snowfall since 2012.

May God Almighty forbid snow from falling in the Land of Promise. I can't imagine surviving in 0°C or even less than that. Ordinary 21°C that the temperature dropped to last night, come and see how I was shivering, not to talk of 1° or 0° or -1° No be here oo abeg
