Sleekfingers:Nigeria's population is not more than 80million. People will die naturally. People will fall sick and die. People will die from gunmen attacks. People will die from animal attacks. People will die from road accidents, train accidents. People will die from malaria. People will die from sickle cell. People will die from negligent doctors and nurses. People will die during child birth. People will die from drinking dirty water. People will emigrate out of Nigeria. E.t.c.. The Truth is Nigeria's population has either reduced or is not more than 80 million. In the 70s, 80s there were no terrorists, gunmen everywhere, roads were too bad or were dirt roads so accidents was less. |

Our clerics drum it in our ears that the sign of a great nation is to be fruitful by bearing children. Now the worst has happened to us. |

Then for no born u first that's how we for take start. When other countries are having regrets over birth control medications and how indigenes have refused to give birth promoting re evaluation of their immigration laws to allow foreigners. Children or population are blessings but your useless leaders doesn't know. tolue42: |

![]() Omo, what happened? I was expecting to see astronomical increase in Germany π©πͺ more than Nigeria π³π¬, but I was deceived by my thinking π€. This shows that the wes always know how to birth moderately unlike Nigerians that want to give birth to all the children in the whole world π. |

tolue42:. That fictitious, bloated population figure isn't our problem. We don't even have reliable population figure in the first place. What of India and China, why isn't their population a problem to them? Is Nigeria up to their population even with the fake population figure? |

Yes, why would our population not increase astronomically especially in the north and amongst the moslems? One can imagine a serving senator having 28 children and he still wants to have more. |

Tunechi5:If it is not a problem why are developed countries not breeding like rodents. Don't they have good leaders as well?. Oga, large number of people is a problem at any level from the family unit to nations. As long as the environment from which all life is derived remains fixed in quantity, more people will only lead to a deterioration of quality of life. Elevate your thinking abeg. |

codemaniacs:Desert (so little) and Semi-desert. Niger Republic which is complete desert and land lock have 32 million inhabitants and estimated projection of nearly 200 million by 2050-2100. Republic of Irekand which is an island country complete surrounded by water does not have any natural resources like oil, sand, gold, zinc etc. and export everything including food from UK, US, and mainland Europe (EU members). They use to be a large producer and exporter of pig and pork but since they joined the EU back in the 1970s (1973 to be precise) they have lost that status). They now dependent alot FDI and tax (a tax haven for mega US corporations). Heck they dont even have #1 ranking in anything either in western europe (5 countries- UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, and Netherlands), europe, or the whole world. Compared to Nigeria which have alot of #1 rankings in west africa (15 countries), africa, and the world. In fact, Nigeria have 5 automotive companies headquartered in the Federation (Innoson, ProForce, Nord, Dangote Motors, Stallion) that produce over 150,000 vehicles annually meanwhile the Republic of Ireland just have branches/dealers of foreign car companies. There is no Walmart in UK and Ireland, we have Walmart here under different brands. Nigeria also is the home of Chicken Republic the largest fast food chain in west africa (which made KFC/YUM bring their business here). There is theme parks across the 36 states. In Ireland there is only Sky for receiving channels, here we have DSTV, GOTV, StarTimes, ShowMax, African Magic, and even US-based Comcast is starting a joint venture with Multichoice with a subsidiary in Nigeria. It took US 144 years after independent to become what it is to day, Nigeria is only 63 years after independent and we are already advancing with #1 ranking in many areas in both west africa and africa as a whole. Note: Even in Soccer our men's team are 3 times African champions, and one of only two countries in Africa to win gold in Olympic Football (the other being our neighbour Cameroon) |

A nation can only support the population it's arable land with water resources can support. A city without drinking water will be deserted no matter the level of development. One such city was unearthed in Niger republic which was built thousands of years ago when the area was a rain forest. |
