The National Judicial Council (NJC) on Friday recommended 23 nominees for appointment as judges of the Federal High Court (FHC) of Nigeria.

Those who made the list include Kayode Ariwoola Jnr, son of Chief Justice Kayode Ariwoola, according to a statement from council spokesman Soyi Oje on Friday night.

The recommendation for the appointments was made at the 103rd meeting of the council presided over by the (CJN) Justice Olukayode Ariwoola and held in Abuja.

The New Federal High Court judges are Ekerete Udofot Akpan, Hussaini Dadan-Garba, Egbe Raphael Joshua, Anyalewa Onoja-Alapa, Aishatu Auta Ibrahim, Ogazi Friday Nkemakonam, Ogundare Kehinde Olayiwola, Onah Chigozie Sergius, Hauwa Buhari, Ibrahim Ahmad Kala and Hauwa Joeph Yilwa.

Others include Dipeolu Deinde Isaac, Abdullahi Muhammad Dan-Ige and Mashkur Salisu, Amina Aliyu Mohammed, Sharon Tanko Ishaya, Chituru Joy Wigwe-Oreh, Musa Kakaki, Owoeye Alexander Oluseyi, Abiodun Jordan Adeyemi, Agbaje Olufunmilola Adetutu and Salim Olasupo Ibrahim.

Aside from the 23 nominees for the Federal High Court, the NJC also sought the appointment of one Kadi for Kaduna State and four other Kadis for Kano State Sharia Court of Appeal.

The NJC noted that Kadi Muhammad Aminu Danjuma is to be appointed as Grand Kadi for Kaduna State. Others to be appointed as Kadis for Kano State Sharia courts are Muhammad Adam Kadem, Salisu Muhammad Isa, Isa Idris Sa’id and Aliyu Muhammad Kani.

The council also recommended candidates are expected to be sworn in after the approval of the NJC’S recommendations to the president and their respective State Governors and confirmation by their State Houses of Assembly, as the case may be.

Is he less a Nigerian because his father is highly placed?

As a Vice-Chancellor of a university, is it logical to deny one's son admission even when he did so well in JAMB UTME, SSCE and Post UTME in order to appear so good to the public?

Most influential and successful people use their resources to prepare their wards academically, professionally, socially, etc for the future.

Once you break the jinx of limitations, your descendants are positioned for greatness.
J F Kennedy's, George W Bush's, etc generations benefitted from their ancestors' breakthrough in the Western world or the saner climes as some people like to eulogize them

Chief Justice’s son is now a federal judge, even if his father is the Chief Justice of the World Court, the son cannot be appointed as a judge anywhere in the world even in the so called Babana Republic if the son did not study and practice Law for some years.

Justice Oputa was also a judge of the Supreme Court, look at what his 71 years old son is. An African 71 years old man calling himself CharleyBoy with piercing and ear rings all over his face, and a lesbian daughter.

Did the boy study Engineering or Mass Communication? If he studied and has practiced Law over the years, then what point do you have against him besides the fact that your family will never ever worth anything compared to his family?

What is difficult about this to understand? While you were busy raising your children as Ipob/esn members, Ariwoola was raising his own child as qualified judge. Can he qualify as judge if he is not trained and have track record? Face on how to raise many baby factory products babies to become useful and responsible in future to take Ariwoola as role model instead of raising them to become Ipob/esn that leave rest of their useful life in bushes taking order from brainless foreign ekpa

But if he deserve it and follow do process nothing wrong with it he is a Nigeria
