Don't mind them. Same bullcrap everytime. So how about all the Lekki yahoo boys and drug lords going about with escorts of 10 mopols or more. Yeye dey smell.
Even in Mainland here sef, every Tom,Dick and Harry dey use mopols escort

seborrhic:
Every IGP does this same rubbish.
Why can't this people come out with unique ideas for God's sake!
So they expect former office holders with means to be going about unsecured with rate of kidnapping and frustration in Nigeria?
The other reasonable alternative is a policy document that empowers private security guards to carry arms,so that they can be employed as guards by these set of exposed people.

Now I wonder how all those Chinese guys in my Estate will be moving without mobile police men. I hope they won't start importing their own police soon.

If your alternative is for these people to be carrying security guards because of kidnapping, who will guard the ordinary citizens who have also been victi6of kidnappings?
The police in their various formations since those that were used by the politicians and top shots would then be incorporated back into the general security and not private duty.

They should start considering private armed guards. They do so abroad.

If that is the case, why then are u complaining that "So they expect former office holders with means to be going about unsecured with rate of kidnapping and frustration in Nigeria?"

No, the government shouldn’t…
Let them pay for their own private security.

If government provide good security for all…
Those so-called “VIPs” will be protected along with everyone else.

Wetin dey vex me is that after stealing our common money, we go still use our police being paid from the tax we paid to protect them. If policy makers doesn't have special security, Nigeria would have been safe because they will do anything to protect everyone because they are involved too. Here one man ex lawmaker or even minister has 5 mobile police man protecting him that is paid from our tax money.
The IG should withdraw all including past governors. Only presidents should be accorded that respect. Make all of us dey huzzle safety grin e go make the present serving ones to get sense and do the right thing

Let there not be any one who is not in authority or service for Nigeria be seen with an army or police guarding them ooo!
Afteral...the constitution says we are all equal!

welldone! new IG....
just like president Bola Ahmed removed subsidy which other presidents had been afraid to do for a long time
You have shown also that you have a lion heart to serve Nigerian to help secure the land.

2nd and 4th paragraphs from the bottom.
Special Protection Unit is different from the Special Intervention Squad is to be set up by pooling a large number of cops from the MOPOL and other tactical units.

Also, those paragraphs you quoted were made by retired cops who are not even active and official spokespersons of the NPF.

You're a strange person.

Did I mention the Special Intervention Squad anywhere? huh

I said there is a Police Special Protection Unit and this is the unit, according to the write up, that will protect the VIPs. What does that have to do with the Special Intervention Squad which will be comprised of the withdrawn PMF and other tactical units?

It ought to be obvious that the reason the paper interviewed those retired cops is to give you the reader information on how these things work. If you choose to reject such information, well that's your own. The fact is, it was included in the report for a reason.
