You see people celebrating death,just because they are from a different region and tribe. People look forward to bad news so that they can showcase their level of hate.

Maybe if you spent as much energy expended complaining to Seun about other posters airing their views into educating your people not to be so materialistic , then maybe we won't be reading about them everyday here for one crime or the other.

The banning aspect has been on for a long time, but it has not been effective enough. Seun needs to explore other more effective options.

The problem is that, even some of the mods are guilty of the bigotry here.

Now the question is, how can it work when the mods are promoting it?

Many of us are guilty of these things. It takes a strong will for someone to reply politely when they are being insulted.

Foreigners also read this forum. Is Seun not aware of the image battery going on here?

Anonymity reduces inhibitions, which can lead to a lot of people saying all sorts of things.

The problem is, remove annonimity on this site, and let people log in using their realnames and identity, and you get people's privacy invaded.

There must be a better way to curb the issue. It could include getting mods more involved in the direction of a thread on the front page.

I know in some cases, the mods intentionally post some twisted headings to drive traffic, but there are other better ways to maintain engagements.

For instance, I see some important news getting to the front page three or four days later. In some other cases, some highly educative topics never get to make front page even after members have asked.

Nairaland can do far better than this to be honest. I used to enjoy the level of engagement on the forum years back.

In May, 2023, Agbado filled the fuel tank of his 2012 toyota camry at the cost of N15, 000. In June and July that same year, he filled the same tank at the cost of N45, 000 and N55, 000 respectively. If the cost of filling the same tank in December is "x", find x.

It's human nature to unveil dark sides and repressed desires when we are incognito and not in the spotlight.

Unfortunately, the only way to get such 'bile' to stop is giving up anonymity. And that might reduce traffic to this site which may impact the value of the site.

IP-bans and Account-bans may not stop determined trolls as they can overcome both using VPNs and alternate accounts.
