What we must understand that what applies to Mr. A differs from Mr. B. Your panel talking point might be around Membership to qualify you while another person might be just because he or she had conditional or unconditional offer already and gives very reasonable reason as to why he/she had chosen that specific University.

Mine was around data analytics and luckily for me, one of the panel member talked about an ongoing data management project in his office, i think PTDF, where they are employing data analysis methodologies, tools and techniques to collect, store and analyze historic data for performance metrics and benchmarking. It went on like on-the-train lagos-ibadan pep talk because I was kinda like rolling very interactively along as if i was his colleague at work. I am not saying that is criteria for winning the scholarship but really the unbelievable can get anyone there. I was even asked if i had gotten admission already and i said yes with evidence.

Make we just keep begging Baba God. Not a single or combination of "I have all the documents and answers" takes anyone there. If God don chose you, Thank Him and then share your story!

I noticed the emphasis on professional membership. Infact I was given line two hours to provide them since I have them but didn't come with them. I had to go get them quickly

I noticed that aswell, I went with six membership of professional bodies. But nothing was mentioned about publications for PhD candidates.

Octave006 and some others called it exactly last year. We are not having as much chatter this year. Is this as a result of the subsidy removal that is affecting the 'sources' ?

Y is this year thread so quiet and few.. just 17 pages at this post interview stage..what's really going on? Is it that many people were not shortlisted or highly connected people were shortlisted more?

Well, people are going through a lot. Subsidy removal, high cost of living, and some don't really have faith in the system as much as they did last year. Let us be hopeful. Hopefully, the list will be released in August. Most schools will resume in September /October.

It is also observed that for the first time in recent history, the list of shortlisted applicants invited for interviews was not published on the PTDF website.

Not the first time. It is only last year they published the list. Other years they don't publish as well
