Ikaeniyan0: Problem is, there are so many of the petrol stations in a particular area. Surely, there must be limit to what NNPCL/Oando/Total can take in a particular area. Similar to how bet9ja and the likes operated few years back. Those who leased theirs to NNPC earlier before now will be lucky. |

When the people's purchasing power has been reduced ,their demand will ultimately be reduced. We are now adjusting to real life situation in the country. Everybody must be cost cautious . I travelled to Europe many years ago where I noticed how cautious people were when it comes to their expenses . A friend wanted to use another person's van and he volunteered to fuel it. I was wondering what was wrong with them not knowing that they were facing the reality of life. Nigerians are welcome to operation structural economic adjustment .. 3 Likes |

With the value of the naira to dollar, the petrol price can never come down unless the fx rate changes in favour of the naira. Demand and supply have nothing to do with the price as marketers cannot sell below their cost price. When I read ignorant people shout deman and supply I laugh. |

Babzrockman:don't mind them. The higher the price the lower the demand. The law of demand is a fundamental principle of economics that states that at a higher price, consumers will demand a lower quantity of a good. Demand is derived from the law of diminishing marginal utility, the fact that consumers use economic goods to satisfy their most urgent needs first. 1 Like |

crixlight2:Same FG that wants to borrow money to pay 8k can conveniently pay salaries? You people just keep shouting Venezuela to scare people into submission. Venezuela still had higher purchasing power than Nigeria. The main problem with Venezuela was lack of local manufacturing which Nigeria suffers from as well. Can you tell me how subsidy removal till boost local manufacturing? |

Biodun556: Bro the problem is not where it's sourced from. Even if it's sourced locally at 3naira per unit, the devil in an average Nigerian that makes him want to exploit others and make life unbearable for others will make him jerk the price up to 500 naira retail price the moment he knows people really need it. Wickedness is a virtue to an average Nigerian. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Fuel Purchase Reduced By 50 Per Cent, Reduce Pump Price – IPMAN Begs Tinubu by Kukutenla: 8:33am On Jul 21, 2023 |
crixlight2:Very wrong. Subsidy is good for any economy. The US has over the past ten years paid over 500bn subsidy to their agric sector to keep food prices low. Same US has also paid over a trillion to oil companies to exploit oil in federal lands to increase US oil reserve which is the largest in the world. The UK heavily subsidises its health sector through the NHS. Same with its transit sector which is why it's farcheaper and easier to move around UK with public transport than private. These countries can't be doing something wrong and still be better off than us. And let me not start on China and subsidies. 1 Like |

This must be fake. It doesnt make sense Tinubu doesnt set pump price Profitability? Abi they don't know economics. If demand is low, reduce price to increase profitability. |
