You will need flat spanner size 10, plug spanner size 8 and 10. A screwdriver with flat and star tip is also important. Finally, a plug spanner for removing the spark plug is needed.

Service your genset. This involves removing the carbon at the exhaust inlet as well as those restricting the outflow of smoke within the exhaust.

Tip 26: Worn bolt thread hole fix.

Just pack the hole with an aluminum light filling like the legacy wire clip before screwing in your bolt. For factory tight fittings, get a welder/fitter to rethread the loose hole.

I am currently having this issue. Please can I see image of the legacy wire clip. Na plastic product dey I dey see when I google am. Or any other suggestion that can serve same purpose. Thanks.

ABC of Tiger Gen (I pass my neighbour)

I have used this type of genset (different ones) for over 15years and have seen all manner of issues. It's the most economical genset till date but has a drawback of regulation. I have put below, tips to help you have less challenges with yours and maximise it's use. You can ask me any question you need clarity on.

*Power* : 950VA,800W
It's better to load the genset not above 700W for better operation.

*Voltage*: 220Vac....use a voltage multimeter to set the genset to this value.

*Startup* : Ensure all power is disconnected from the switch and only your fan(s) ....2max are switched on. This helps to take the initial inductive load and then you could switch on other appliances one by one.

*Updates*: I shall be providing updates here as new information become available and clearification if needed. You can reach me via no. on my signature. However, I appeal for questions to be asked here so that more persons benefit from your experience.

Tip 27: Genset speed is excessive and cannot be controlled or reduced via the speed adjustment screws.

If you have this condition, then know that the speed governor within the machine is worn. Replace the fork and speed governor to get your engine speed back within your control.

Your 800w Tiger generator cannot work with the gasoline/LPG special carburetor because there will be no fuel/oil mixture. The oil within the mixture is important for engine lubrication and cooling. It's omission will definitely cause your engine to knock.

However, the special carburetor could be used for any higher capacity gensets that have a seperate oil sump.

Yes, your 1.25kva genset should work fine with the right Lpg carburetor fitting. Keep gas cylinder 4/5 steps away and covered.

Please, i just recently serviced my tiger gen but still it keeps giving high and low current i.e when its working, it will go up for a few minutes and then drops very very low for a few minutes again as if it wants to go off, then it will go up again and work for a few minutes, continuously. I use 3 ceiling fans and 4 small energy bulbs with 1 TV. Am tired, please what could be the cause because i follow the oil measurements and i make sure to service it regularly and change parts if need be but its still stressing me. Please what do you suggest?

Check the carburettor it could be the culprit.

What fix did you eventually applied?

An engineer helped me worked on my some weeks ago, he changed the oil and fixed the Carburetor.

Now the output voltage is fluctuating with Zero load. And it's so bad that when I put in my Pumping machine, it will keep dropping off.
