Okay you have made a case that makes alot of sense. However you were more on the side of adoptive parents than the kids, I wished you extended the same reason with those helpless kids that didn't decide to be born or circumstances to be born.
Kids are resilient and have their lives ahead of them.

Parents with adult kids are in the twilight of their existence. Worst possible time to have regrets. You'll have all the time in the world to brood and contemplate your life's trajectory.

And you may have misunderstood my writ. I'm not apportioning blame to the adopted kids. Kids will be kids. Regarding their circumstances, they're faultless. For the parents, tho', it is a conscious, deliberate choice to adopt.

If that's the voyage you choose to undertake, don't skip the security of a lifeboat. At the very least for your mental health. On the off chance that things don't work out, drinking yourself to death in a dimly-lit room without anyone checking on you should not be the endgame.

i hope you will agree with my recommendations:
-dont adopt kids unless you have always had the desire to adopt kids. Using kids as backup plan when conception fails just to appease womb checkers feels selfish. Ivf ,surrogacy ,and the rest can solve it.it is okay to accommodate a child,or feed them or cloth them for as long as you can
You can be their guardian or sponsor or God parent but don't adopt them and give them your surname if you can't vouch for unconditional love for them.
Yes, I agree completely.

-Lord

There's profit in being detailed.
No, not in what will not benefit me. It's too much of a detail.

Don't throw words around indiscriminately. I was only trying to point out the dangers that some selfish mothers subject their children to.

If you read my post with a calm mind, you wouldn't be spewing trash.

Just because they doubt the paternity of their daughters is not a justification to sleep with them.

If she is not your daughters doesn't give you the right to sleep with someone else's daughter.
You guys never read to understand before you jump into conclusions. Does my post suggest in anyway that I am in support of fathers molesting their daughters?

Father's sleeping with their daughters because they feel that the girls ain't their biological daughtershuh? Which kind justification for abomination is this? No sane man should sleep with any girl living with him and addressing him as father, uncle, brother etc. Daughter or no daughter, it's an abomination.
I am starting to think that the reason you beat up the child is because she ain't your daughter.

Does the above statement shows that your act was justified or trying to point out your poor attitude toward the child?

Lack of proper understanding of the English language is the main issue here. Next time, read and digest properly before commenting.

I don't understand...DNA test says she isn't biologically your child and you still dey call am your daughter!

Your confusion is confusing you! undecided[/quote]I'm the only father shes ever known. Paternity aint all about biological relations. She remains my daughter even though not by blood!

Over years, I understand that in their culture, they practice casual marriage, where by
Once you are pregnant for a man, it's automatically that the man is your husband and you are his wife

This unrecognized system have made so many children to be wandering about because they neither belong to their mother or their father family's and as such, the child doesn't really belong to any where

They should practice their marriage like other tribes where proper marriage rights will be perform so that the woman will remain in her husband house instead of giving births to so many children for different fathers

That was why she was able to manipulate all these men

Had a one night stand with this Cross River girl back home in Cameroon in 2006. After some years she claims i'm the father to her daughter. I start taking care of the child including schooling from primary 3 till date. Fast forward until 6 months ago i tried bringing my supposed daughter over to the US by filing for her since i'm a US citizen. USCIS demanded me and my daughter take a DNA test. Spent lots of money especially as she was back home and the test had to go through the US embassy. The results came in. She was 0% biologically related to me! My world crumbled. I felt used and all that. Went back home in May 2023 to confront the mom. she had nothing to say about my daughter's biological father. She herself is still confused till date. I've made a promise to myself to still help the child to achieve her dreams no matter what. my daughter doesnt know what has happened yet. i'm so afraid this might affect her psychologically coz i'm all she has ever known. I'm in to mental health so i know whats up. She'll be taking the GCE Advanced Level Certification next year. I might possibly have to adopt her too coz shes very promising academically. Its always good to do a DNA these days especially where theres doubt! I used to see it only on naija movies till it happened to me...
I pray God gives you the strength to continue to support the girl. Please don't forsake her.
