You have to first ask yourself how much cleaners are paid on average. In my experience, it's between 15 and 20k a month.

If he's paying 65k, I think it's fair.

It doesn't have anything to do with other cleaners .

It is all about a billionaires payment earmarked for a cleaner who was lucky enough to clinch the position...

My criticism actually is his boldness and justification of this meagre sum......

Anything less than 100k is not okay....

A 60k has no effect whatsoever in the life of such a cleaner who is viewed as being lucky to have access to Osho..

People working for u as an individual(billionaires) are viewed differently from those working in an organisation cos they are relatively close to you than mere visitors

Army killed unarmed protesters at Lekki Toll Plaza and took away their bodies to cover up the killings. My younger brother was at the Plaza that sad night, that sad event is the reason he is out of the country now. The trauma he felt cannot be imagined and we had to get him out asap to help him recover. You want to disperse peaceful protesters and you came with life bullet, removed the cameras at the Plaza and turn off the lights.
This is Nigeria where uniform men kill innocent people in broad daylight for as little as ₦100, but you are looking for evidence of the corpses before believing people were killed. It is easy to support or defend an action that did not affect us directly, i have written too much already...

That's entitlement spirit na. A cleaner job is not a skilled labour, u don't need to even have primary 6 certificate before u can work as a cleaner.

Anybody paying a cleaner 60k per month should not be condemned at all irrespective of his standing in the society. The minimum wage is 30k and the person has paid 100% above the minimum wage.

Maybe Oshiomole was wrong to have bragged about it, but he has actually done well if indeed he pays cleaners that much.

In line with the current realities in the country and commitment of our administration to ameliorate the effects of removal of fuel subsidy on the well-being of the good people of Ogun State, we have approved the following measures for immediate implementation:

1. Cash palliative of N10,000 for each public servant including pensioners to enable workers to cope with the economic shocks occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy for 3 months in the first instance with effect from July 2023.

2. Approval of hazard allowance for all health and medical personnel in the State.

3. Approval of peculiar allowance for public servants in the State.

4. Immediate release of Letters of Promotion in respect of 2021 and 2022.

5. Payment of March and April 2023 leave bonuses for public servants in the State.

6. Immediate cash-backing for the quarterly payment of gratuities to pensioners.

7. All our Ministries, Departments and Agencies are to work out modalities of ensuring that 20% of their staff strengths are off-duty daily to ease the effect of the recent increase in fuel price among public servants.

8. Commencement of food palliatives to the vulnerable (rice, garri, beans, maize etc).

9. Furthermore, Gateway Trading Company has been directed to ensure the establishment of distribution outlets across the state, while items must be sold at the rate obtainable before the fuel price increase.

10. Also, fertilizers and other farm inputs are to be supplied to farmers at subsidized and controlled prices.

11. Other measures include the commencement of conversion of State Mass Transit buses to CNG including staff buses and current public transportation buses in circulation to reduce the cost of transportation by charging rates comparable to what was obtained before deregulation.

12. Immediate Road Infrastructure Intervention, with all the local governments working with Community Development Associations and Community Leaders to submit three roads that require immediate intervention as part of the palliative programmes and support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through Special Schemes to boost production capacity and employment generation.

So because you work for a billionaire, you must earn big money? grin

Anyways, this cleaner is earning big money too.

Compared to 20k for cleaners, she's earning 65k.

So, in the circle of cleaners, he/she is viewed differently.

Maybe I am being biased by viewing it from an emotional lens, but,I think there are some qualities that the said cleaner must have possesed wch isn't really uniformed with a "just cleaner" b4 he/she can be employed by osho.

In all honesty, trusting someone with your apartment (home) of a famous person comes with a greater responsibility than others..

If you earn 1m per month and as a result can't perform some home chores like cleaning...what do you think is reasonable to pay someone to do it,bearing in mind that this person has access to almost every part of your home even when you are absent for a long period.

It is well
An average cleaner in the US and UK earn about $14 and £11 (11k) per hrs, do the math for a month.

most Nigerians that japa to this country started as cleaner to survive.

60k for a cleaner as an employee to a billionaire is too small and also he a senator currently and there is a provision of allowance for his domestic staff.

You don talk finish for up there , u are using emotional lens to look at things here . See that 30k above minimum wage as enough to make a non criminal mind to discharge his or her job as a cleaner .

The cleaner earning 60k fixed pay in a billionaire’s house will never want to work as a graduate to collect 200k . The cleaner will always get windfall from time to time either when visitors come around and gift him cash , when oga’s children bless him/her and even from errands he/she will be sent that will cause him to see extra cash .

I used to know a person that works in Lagos State house at marina as one of the stewards/domestic staff . He lives better than some Assitant managers that have worked 7-8 years in a corporate office .

So as engineers in naija company you unfortunately will sometimes have to do boy boy work for ogas at the top when they have infrastructure issues. So one xmas like that ceo was in UK or wherever and there was an issue in his house that needed fixing. See steward and Co LIVING large, relaxing in living room, drinking and eating the high end chop about to expire.

And if oga na naughty boy, steward/driver gets extra pts for discretion and coordinating the runs.

And if they have a very very good relationship, you will see the ceo financing their kids education even to the abroad. As long as they sha don't get greedy and mess it all up.

At a point the help if long enough are practically family especially as they know all the secrets and have cleaned and covered up multiple messes over the years

This sha assumes the oga and his wife are not major diicks but reasonably reasonable human beings. Some bosses are simply not it

you are dragging him because 65k is small, then almost every billionaire and multi million should be on your list.

From our pastors, to philanthropist, politicians, i dont think they are many that pay a cleaner above 100k

Remember it is just a cleaner. There would be more cleaners, chefs and cooks, sous chef, nannies if there are kids.

Do the maths and he would be spending millions on paying salaries of house helps, excluding security.

Truly, it is your emotions bro. In Nigeria, 65k for a job of 25k is not bad

How do u take such secret police serious ? After holding someone they accuse of terrorism financing for one month, then they come up with this. smh

That's if he even fulfils half of those promises he put in the list. One of my friend's mum is a retired pensioner living in ogun so I hear first hand about dapo's several incompetencies. We as a people have been forcefully adapted to take a lot of rubbish from these public officials.
