bemeruca:How much self hate does it take for a Nigerian to argue that Nigerian/African slaves transported to the US were better off in the US rahter than Nigeria/Africa because of skills they may have learned there like blacksmithing. Really, how much do you hate yourself and the country you live in? |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by basilico: 5:51pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
IjeBos:Many of the enslaved from Africa ended up in Middle East and South America too. How come there is not a single black who plays for Argentina yet most South American teams have lots of black people? As for Saudi Arabia there are no black descendants of slavery. The word eunuch should ring a bell. Yes America treated their slaves horribly. Listen to yourself. But remember the republican party was the one that fought against slavery that the democrats wanted to keep. I repeat the democrat party fought to keep their slaves. |

IjeBos:Who enslave the. Nigerians and Africans and sold them to the white man? Answer this question. You conveniently ignore my main point... And tried to swim in the pool of ignorance. |

bemeruca:Very ignorant. Those who captured slaves are worse than those who bought them. Ijeboss. Which was the last country to abolish slavery? Is there any country where slavery is still practices today? Hint. You can use ChatGPT |

IjeBos:Aren't you the one who thinks he is better than Nigerians because you live in a country that enslave blacks from Nigeria and Africa? Aren't you the one bragging about going to a white school? |

basilico:Lmfao, this argument. If I was to be a slave, I would rather be a slave in Africa than one in the Americas because then I would at least know I would gain my freedom after a number of years or my children would be freed and not inherited like property and their children after that. Fact, most slaves in Africa could climb the social ranks to high positions of power and weren't treated like less than cattle simply because of their race (no concept of until later 19th century during colonialism) and still enjoyed some rights as free men did is a much better deal if you ask me than ones in the Americas. Most slaves were PoW but were later intergrated into the winners society. Its not the fact the United States or other countries in the Americas "just" practiced slavery but it was the first unique system of slavery that was entirely based on race and the most horrific one. I suggest you read up on the Bacon's Rebellion in the late 18th century if you don't know it already as it will give you the idea of how it all began and where the first codified laws of "whiteness" and "blackness" originated to justify the enslavement of Africans. As for the "wElL, rEpUbLiCaNs eNdEd sLaVeRy" just stop...Its a well known right-wing talking point from the American Right. Party labels are irrelevant, what matters was the ideology. Southern conservatives were the ones that fought for slavery to conserve the status quo, it was the northern liberals/progressives who were the abolitionists fought to end it like John Brown. Even after slavery ended, black Americans still weren't free because a few years right after that Jim Crow laws came into effect that effectively made them 2nd class citizens and also bought them back to slavery-lite known as share cropping. There was also a loophole they used in the 13th amendment that a person could be re-enslaved if they committed a crime. So, they passed all kinds of petty bills that a black person could be arrested for minor offenses and convicted in rigged courts with all white juries and a white judge guaranteeing a conviction. Your basically saying that black Americans should be grateful for their ancestors being enslaved because they can join some shitty sports team? Lmfao. "Despite all the beatings, rapes, tortures, gruesome deaths, the middle passage, ripping apart my family, and erasing my cultural identity, I am totally thankful to be born in the states because I can join the NBA!" |

TookDownYourMum:The Southern conservatives you implied were democrats at the time of the civil war. The civil war was about democrats wanting slavery to go on, Jim Crow was. democrat. I'm not going there for now, All I know is that not a single republican owned slaves at its formation Twist history but that's the fact Slavery in other parts. PoWs in some African cultures were generally treated well, women captured were turned into wives. You skipped the men being castrated such that there are no descendants. The Turks used captured christian children, the janniseries in their army, most famous victory being capturing Constantinople, now Istanbul. Tell me where the blacks in Argentina went to. Mauritania. Abolished slavery in 1981 .They still have some form of slavery today, masters can lend their slaves to others for exploitation be it labour or sex. So much for black slaves in murica, who made 500k whites die in a war about them. I'm supposed to believe white American were the most brutal owners, who enforced the abolition of slave trade n They had a unique system legally to keep the slaves ( democrats) In other parts of the world, slaves were castrated, men sodomized and forced to fight while the women were kept in harems. Now that California will pay reparations, how about African families being compensated for loss of their bread winners to slave owners in America? |

And this madness of gaslighting black people over slavery continue, not like I didn't predict it. How can any sensible person start saying slavery was beneficial to blacks, how long till we start hearing about bringing slavery back, this is madness. |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by basilico: 9:00am On Jul 25, 2023*. Modified: 10:04am On Jul 25, 2023 |
sanpipita:Slavery was and is still inhumane. Blacks were captured by fellow blacks , sold to Arab slave traders who in turn shipped them to the Americas and others landed in the middle east. Arabs for years had raided Europe and captured slaves ,sexually exploited the women, castrated the men and used them as soldiers after forced conversions. Blue eyed Arabs with curly hair most likely are of Caucasian origin. King Leopold treated Congo as his personal farm, forced the natives to grow rubber plus dig up minerals. Those who did not lost their hands if they were not killed. Don't forget the colonialists who forcefully imposed taxes on natives in order to force them to work their farms and in mines. In Sierra Leone those who did not dig up bloody diamonds hand their hands chopped off.. by Foday Sankoh and Charles Taylor. This was between 1991 and 2002. All this is slavery. The only slavery we hear a lot is blacks in America, whom I believe have had better opportunities than in all other countries. Can the left give us a break |

Good read on how media became partisan, away from the days when being impartial earned them big. Today media cares for it's segment.. A sort of safe space where it's opinions benefit it's customers and vilify the opposing views. https://www.outkick.com/the-washington-post-tried-to-bring-down-bill-clinton-now-it-ignores-joe-bidens-corruption-how-did-we-get-here-clay-travis/ |

basilico:This is about slavery in the Americas not the Trans-Sahara slave trade and the Barbary slave trade which both pagan Africans and Christian Europeans were enslaved even then they could gain their freedom if they converted to islam. Arabized Nubians in North Sudan and Southern Egypt helped the Ottoman-Egypt slave raid further into the interior of Africa so they could add slave soldiers into their ranks. As for castration, Islamic empires like the Ottomans not castrate all of their slaves, there are Afro-Turkic people today which most are descended from slaves and 40% of Mauritania is heratin (descendants of slaves), 30% are Arab/Berbers and another 30% of black Africans who were never enslaved, many Bantu Somalis etc, elites and people of Swahili city states are Afro-arabs and Arabized populous in Mombasa, Kilwa, Zanzibar, Lamu etc. As for Argentina, thats a myth people like to keep peddling. They were not killed off, there are still 150,000+ Afro-Argentines in the country today descended from slaves. Also, modern-slavery ingeneral is a big problem but Africa barely contributes to most of it, Asia is actually the hotbed for modern-day slavery like India having more than 18 million people enslaved. Then you have all the Arab states like Qatar, Dubai etc that enslave Indians, Filipinos, and Nepalis etc. There is also child sex slavery which is the biggest in Asia, specifically southeast Asia which many white expats and white tourists from Europe and America keep alive, most of Interpol most wanted pedophiles are white. Dont get me started on the sex slavery in Eastern Europe either being a problem. Also, I never said that US was the worst in chattel slavery, that was infact Haiti controlled by France which they had a revolt about, won, and killed all of their French slave masters. Out of that 500,000, 180,000 freed blackmen and ex-slaves fought and died in the Union fighting for freedom. It wasn't just a white Union effort. Once again, stop using party labels, the base ideology is what's relevant. Just say Conservatives. Edit: Slavery was and is still inhumane. Blacks were captured by fellow blacks , sold to Arab slave traders who in turn shipped them to the Americas and others landed in the middle east. There was no racial concept in Africa, did they share the same skin colour? Yes, but they did not view the people they were trading as "their" people because they weren't of the same ethnic group. it was tribes enslaving other enemy tribes in their wars, debators and criminals, and sometimes raiding villages of enemy tribes. Would you say England enslaved their fellow white people after they thrashed France in a war? No, thats ridiculous. As ones who owned the slave forts and shipped Africans to the Americas were Europeans. Africans may have been the one to capture the slaves in the interior and sell them off to Europeans for stuff like firearms, but Europeans are the ones who bought them, transported them to another continent, and treated them less than animals for 400 years. Shit, you try to justify all of that inhumane shit just because they have better opportunities in the US than those in Africa currently? Even then thats bullshit because stuff like redlining, given harsher sentences for the same crimes than their white counterparts, 9 times more likely to be stopped by police than their white counterpart, predominantly black neighbourhoods and schools are underfunded, understaffed, and underresourced, more black people are killed at a higher per capita than whites, less than 5% of black businesses receive financial assistance, and constant attempts to limiting Sunday ”Souls to the polls” etc. |

budaatum:I dont know much about American politics other than its history but recent mid-terms in 2022 shows 77% of Gen Z voted in favor for the Democrats thats got the GOP pissing their pants. They are attemptting to up the voting age to 21 since most of their base is made up of old baby boomers and 5 million new young voters will be eligible to vote in 2024. Plus the demographic shift that doesn't favor the Republicans. |

TookDownYourMum:Your history knowledge, from what I've read of you so far, makes you more knowledgeable about American politics than some here. As for American politics, wouldn't we all be amazed if the GOP nominee wins the next presidency. They might just go so far as Netanyahuing American courts since padding it with supposed right wingers hasn't quite worked. |

TookDownYourMum:Young people always vote overwhelmingly liberal. I was pretty liberal myself in my teens/early 20’s and a big supporter of Obama in 2008. What your analysis fails to take into account is the fact that people tend to get more conservative as they age and get real life responsibilities, jobs, families, kids etc. people always talk like Gen Z are going to remain kids forever. They are gonna grow up too. |

I know millions of people who would never be as dirty and trashy as magadonians wasteland when they are getting older. Who would like to live a life of vomit? I don't understand this your argument self. |

Let criminal trump or Nazi deathsantis, or one braindead fox presenter start another meaningless talk, this fool will only lap it up. He has no standing to ever say - these people are wrong here. He's a fool that will easily defend every vermin that comes from the Reich wing. NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT. What a waste. |

TookDownYourMum:Total rubbish still whining that cops look at you badly. White people don't consider themselves equal to you. When out of their earshot, they call you all sorts of derogatory names. Eg Clinton said that dude (Obama) would be getting him coffee. Just because some ofl you are in that country and very oppressed, you look at people in Nigeria as backwards with choice insults reserved for us. How you expect someone who thinks you are beneath him to treat you as his equal? Respect is earned Not demanded . You defend the few examples of how slaves were treated But want to make blacks more treated harshly than others. Blacks have not been enslaved since 1865. Equal treatment is what you want . Noone prevented blacks from running businesses or working since then. |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by MentalCase98: 6:58pm On Jul 25, 2023 |
Obrigardo:No I just said they become more conservative. If those are the terms you associate all conservatives with then that’s your own cross to carry. You people think Trump will live forever or he will be the Republican nominee for president forever? I don’t understand your logic. Even if you don’t like Trumps brand of politics it will be stupid that to think all Gen z will go into every election for eternity with him at that front of their minds. Table Kitchen issues are what decide elections and not all this gibberish you typed here. |

budaatum:I didn’t say anything about the next election. I just said it’s a long term trend that every generation gets more conservative as they age. If you think Gen z will still be voting 70% democrat in 20 years from now when the realities and priorities of their lives would have obviously changed a lot then you have another thing coming. And yes a republican CAN win the Whitehouse without winning the Gen Z vote. It’s all about turning out other demographics in higher numbers depending on whatever issue is at the forefront of that particular election. I don’t think trump won Gen Z or whether generation was the youngest eligible voter block in 2016 either. He just brought out white blue-collar voters in high enough numbers to make the ground. |
