You probably don’t know the kind of peaceful mind you need to achieve learning tech skills…

Lol, I can’t even imagine myself balancing partners money and going for tech classes together…

The stress alone will never make me assimilate, let me just wait till I pay off my partner then I will know my problems have reduced…

Every university graduate understand what it means when they say "student can never be ready enough for exams", like let the semester be 12 months stretch, when it's time for exams you'll still hear some students complaining they're not ready yet.

There is no ideal time neither is there an ideal state... Even in physics... It's just a perception.

My brother make haste while the sun shines because you can't tell what tomorrow will give birth to.

Reason I asked, how much and much longer will it take. If it's less than 500k fine! Above 1m? Bro walk through the eyes of the needle. Dump that contract and focus on career.

The experience is all that is needed. I want to believe you've seen it all. So what's left?

It is above 1m considering the tools you will be needing..

I don’t want to add to the ongoing pressure I’m currently into, when my mind is settled, I will take my time to learn it…

Trust me, if the salary is big, d person will not be doing Uber on d side.
I can't even remember d last time I woke up by 5am to go and work except when I am pursuing my other businesses and trying to beat traffic.
I know what I want in life, and ehailing is giving it to me easily. I left paid employment, I resigned with my hands no be say anything happen. The total amount of ajo I do a week is more than 100k.
I don't answer to anybody, write query when I am late or get sent on errands that they can kidnap me, I don't wait for oga to leave office before I go home, I am in control of my life.
I can sleep at home for two weeks in a month and still make 2times the salary of a Lagos big boy.
Every endeavour has its own advantages and disadvantages, let's do whatever pays us, whatever is working for us and whatever makes us fulfilled and happy.
I will never pull down any hussle, whether corporate job or business, others should learn to do same.

But it easy for some people to look down on mechanics here, it doesn’t take more than two sentences you will hear “smelly midget mechanic blackbishop “

Let me tell you a story.

My father was a career banker. He woke up by 4:30am every day to beat traffic in order to arrive at work before his resumption time. He came back home nothing earlier than 8pm every day as well. I grew up for most of my early life not even waking or sleeping in the presence of my dad. I only had time with him on weekends. I missed my dad so much back then but I understood why he was always away. He was a banker working to give I and my siblings a better life. He retired after 37 years of living this way. He's still alive today and doing well too but he can't get back all those years he wasn't around to bond with us his kids. Till today my mom is still the one who underands us kids as individuals while my dad still thinks about us as his responsibilities like housing, clothing, feeding etc. It's now part of his psyche.

I later grew older and vowed never to be like him. I can't be at a desk for a better part of the day everyday and earn how much? My kids growing and changing every time I see them on weekends. Not knowing their habits or friends except my wife informs me. No chance to play or do home works with them because by the time I'm home they might already be sleepy or I'm the one whose feeling same. I grew up most of my life watching my dad from afar because his desk job robbed us of time with him . Did he make the money? Yes he did, but I still saw many of his mates who were into several other things without being chained to a desk doing far better than he was.

After he retired he tried his hands at many businesses but they failed because he couldn't control certain aspects of them. He had spent all his life working at a desk and found it hard to adjust to life after work. He didn't have time to learn any new skills or businesses asides his what was always waiting for him at his desk. His finances dwindled and he encountered several setbacks. To God be the glory we his kids were already of age and independence had set in uo assist our parents. By the time he realised that he had spent so much time facing one direction and forgot there were more roads to follow when he arrived at the eventual career T junction waiting in front of us all.

If you know you're living your life like my dad on this thread please think again about your future. That desk job will end one day and then what? How much will your pension be? How often will you get it? What will be its purchasing power by then?

You say you drive after working to earn a side pay but at the same time downplay the role of driving as a verifiable skill.

It is well.

That is my story kind of but it was my mum here. That was why as Babcock graduate I never cherish the office life I worked with two banks but I never felt that fulfillment until I resigned to learn mechanic.

The kind of joy waking up everyday going to the workshop alone Dey always sweet me for belle. I can bet my life where this mechanic business has taken me to bank job can’t. The kind of people I’ve met or the kind of finance the business has directed towards my side.

But glory to God ego didn’t take that from me bcuz if I reason my guys that were discouraging me from resigning to learn mechanic or how I lost all my pals and some family members all bcuz I choose to learn mechanic you go fear how we humans are programmed.

The.inly.wromg.i.see the decease did was using a Toyota Corolla for transportation purpose.

In a nutshell, working at night is not the issue, who you pick is not also a major factor but the tool you use.

Car hijackers have a target and know what exactly they need, they order a ride at odd hour and see you're driving a Passat 1999.model they cancel immidaitely because na bad market for them... Who go buy am? I experience this alot when I was using the Civic 03 and the MB... I minimize the hours I.work at night using the Corollas.

So in my opinion, the tool is the magnetic force to some.of.these vices.

Most if not all homicides surrounding the death of Uber driver in the past years, check the cars it's a Toyota Corolla.

But in this case it was a Camry big daddy

The reason why you understood my post was because you went through a similar childhood. I also studied banking in the university just because when I was in primary school I wanted to be like my dad.

Back then anybody that made mistake to ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up I’d waste no time in screaming “banker” lol. I went to secondary and at ss1 joined commercial class.

At ss3 I wrote gce, neco, neco gce, waec, jamb and poly jamb all for banking as first choice and accountancy as my second choice. The thing been dey shak me for head that year ehn grin

Chai. Memories.

That way they will be able to recoup all the money spent in that scam of a refinery, because they all have a stake so they must protect their interest.

Brother, please, quickly think of what to do before you blow that money finish, I remember last year February, sold my car for 1.2m, took me a whole 10months to safe to get the car but when I sold it without doing anything that gives me money, I blew the whole 1.2m within 2months…

Chai, i felt so miserable when I realized I lavished everything without having any income, it was crazy, after I lavished everything, I started looking for jobs and I was only able to secure one through NL but the salary was 50k, I told myself to take it so I won’t just be sitting idle at home, I took the job and was looking for car again to begin another savings to buy another car, that was when I came across my partners comment on this thread, I called him immediately on WhatsApp and I was surprised he said he had my number saved on his phone and that was the reason he even picked my call, I was confused cox I can’t remember engaging him in anything, he then explained to me that I once sold a car to him in 2018, imagine o, someone I sold a car to in 2018, I never knew we will have another business in 2022. That was how he gave me the car on HP coz we have had business before.

But what I realized was, the company I was assigned to work for, I was able to liaise with the Indians and made friends with them under 1 month I spent with them and today, I’ve been assigned a contract to be supplying cars and drivers for them while I oversee the affairs of the drivers and cars, rn, I just got a very interesting deal with an investor who’s willing to invest in my establishment so far I provide this Indian companies to be using the car, I’m trying to get referrals from this Indians so I can submit my company proposals and be able to supply them cars, once I can have 10 cars under my company being used by this Indians, I will have rest of mind and won’t have to stress myself working…

I will come back here to write my success story in sha Allah, just waiting for everything to balance then I will come here to share my success story and the struggles while attaining success…

Is this story coming from same moniker who is trying to see his current HP through and go into his tech career? Or I'm i missing things up in my mind??

Anywhich way sha, I wish you success to.

Sha remember those living with their mother and those who don't have the privilege to live with their mother oh.

I don talk my own. Finish

Why does 600/ltr favours them with AGO?

Is PMS supposed to be more expensive?

The problem is people are no longer united, try protest in Lagos now and watch Yorubas counter it and tell you how you want to destroy Lagos or tell you to go to your state and protest.
Why was it difficult for NLC to go ahead with their planned protest, some regions refused to join the protests and if the remaining go ahead and protest it will become a case of you are protesting because you don't like this Guy and because your candidate didn't win.
