‘An arrow has been fired’ — Sanwo-Olu’s wife speaks of doctor killed in elevator accident

Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Lagos state governor, has spoken on the death of Vwaere Diaso, the medical doctor, saying “an arrow has been fired into the health family”.

On Tuesday, Diaso died after an elevator at the General Hospital, Lagos Island, which she was in, fell from the 10th floor.

The doctor’s demise has continued to attract a chorus of condemnation on social media platforms, with many Nigerians accusing the hospital’s management of negligence.

The elevator was said to have had faults which staff had frequently complained about to no avail.

“A doctor who had just 2 weeks to complete her housemanship just died in general hospital (Odan, Lagos island) due to poor management and negligence. The elevator she was in, fell from 10th floor to the ground! Video was so painful to watch,” a Twitter user wrote.

But on Wednesday, the governor’s wife, while addressing the media, implied that the incident was caused by a “spiritual attack” against the health sector.

In a now-viral video, Ibijoke also linked the incident to the jet accident that occurred in the state on Tuesday while seeking answers from the crowd.

An arrow has been fired into the health family. First of August is a day I will never forget,” she said.

The same day a helicopter crashed, the same day a lift dropped down. How? How? How?

Thunder fire your mouth. May that same arrow be fired @ any doctor in your family for you to feel the pain of this bereaved family.

It was alleged that the Hospital old elevator has been malfunctioning for years and some wicked fellas have been embezzling the monies means to get it repaired or changed.

Now their greed and wicked lackadaisical attitude have claimed the live of a young promising medic, sent a family into endless mourning yet this one is over spiritualising deliberate human wickedness. We really have heartless leaders in Nigeria

You should please keep quiet and tell your leaders and boss at workplace to take responsibility instead of trying to justify a failure on their end. It's unfortunate that you're blaming an obvious fault from an elevator on spiritual activity. That's a very poor mentality, ignorance and superstition.

Blaming a technical failure on spiritual activity is a sign of failure in leadership and an attempt not to take responsibility. It's a way of avoiding the real causes and solutions of the problem. Shifting the blame and escaping accountability.

There are many possible causes of an elevator failure. Mechanical breakdown, faulty doors, wiring problems, incomplete maintenance, or unbalanced leveling. They have nothing to do with spirits or ghosts or curses. They have everything to do with human error or negligence or incompetence, mate.

Spiritual activity has no say in it. It's not a valid explanation or excuse for an elevator failure. It's not based on evidence or logic or science. It's based on fear or superstition or ignorance. So please don't give us that rubbish about spiritual activity causing your elevator to fail. We know better than that. We know you're lying or deluded. You are not solving anything, including that lady, just making things worse!

Look at the fools Agbado munchers worship and defend.

That elevator has been faulty since 2018 and they refused to fix it until it killed someone.

Now they are calling it spiritual attack.

She's not saying it's paranormal. She's implying that the two incidences were false flag attacks perpetrated by the opposition and fifth columnists to bring down her husband's administration. She's just being coy about it.

Okay...let's vilify her ...

That's very important...

Though,we all can see that the Op didn't give us the whole transcript of her speech so that we can know exactly what she was saying, the simple fact that she's the wife of a governor, especially Lagos state governor, means she should be pilloried for her speech...
